I'm looking for some Black Moth figures, did X-plus every release a Black Moth?

I know they did this with some sort of Gatanozoa, but when else did they do that?

Baltan 1. Reionic Burst Gomora. The "transporting" version of Baltan.

Granted, these are all versions of already existing characters, but there is a precedent

Legion1979 wrote:So that's...seven monsters? And I use "monsters" very loosely, since Metron and both Baltans aren't monsters in the same sense that Gomora, Eleking and Golza are monsters. The Ultra Act line has been around for a while already and the fact that those are all we've got so far in a line that's swimming in a sea of humanoid hero figures is pretty unfortunate.

It's quality, not quantity when it comes to my collection. My Eleking, Gomora, and Golza look fantastic alongside my Baltan II, Belial, Jean Bot, and Glen Fire. Zoffy's on the way too so my UA shelf is looking pretty healthy right now.

Legion1979 wrote: I wouldn't say it's a given. I don't even expect guys like Bemstar, Vakishim, Black King or Tyrant to ever show up in this line, and those are some of the coolest-looking monsters. Monsters are slowly being added to this line. VERY slowly.

Meh. I expect at least to get Red King and some form of Zetton. As it is, what I have is enough and anything beyond that is icing on the cake.

Legion1979 wrote: Enjoy.

I will, believe me. Is it so hard for you to imagine that I get as much enjoyment out of my tiny collection as you do with your vinyl wall?

Legion1979 wrote: No one is bickering.

False. To bicker is to argue petulantly about something trivial. Happens all the time here. Happened a few posts ago.

Legion1979 wrote: See, I read this and I see someone trying DESPERATELY to convince HIMSELF that nothing is important as long as the MonsterArts and Ultra Acts are around. You wonder why your posts get people talking? It' because of this "Nothing else matters or is important because nothing even comes close to these brand new lines that don't even offer a small percentage of the variety and selection of the vinyls" vibe I get. It's confusing. And if I didn't know you were sincere I'd think I was being trolled.

Again you're off the mark. I'm not desperate, nor are MA and UA the only things that are important to me. Wife, job, mortgage, health, etc., all very important things. As far as my collection goes, though... Yup. No other figures are important to me as long as these two lines are around. Maybe you missed me repeatedly stating that the new lines are what got me back into kaiju collecting after a long hiatus. You've got some real issues with my collecting style. Fortunately I'm caring less and less every day. I'm going to say this one more time and maybe you'll be able to wrap your skull around it: Monsterarts and Ultra Acts are the only lines I care about collecting. They're the lines that got me back into collecting toys and once the lines are through my collecting will be put on hold or finished. And I will cherish them for what they are: Gorgeous representations of some of my favorite monsters.

Legion1979 wrote: Why? Because of an Ultraman line that can't be bothered to fill out it's monster roster and a Godzilla line that's JUST STARTED and only has two commercially released figures so far?

Yup. Now you're getting it!

Legion1979 wrote: That's like tossing out all your other video game consoles and handhelds because some bright and shiny new system has JUST been released with one or two cool games that have caught your eye.

False. My situation is like seeing the cool games first and getting them. Then I see some handhelds and other systems and buy them. Realizing that the latter purchases aren't what I'm looking for in a game I get rid of them.

Legion1979 wrote:Imagine some more Heisei monsters. It's not hard. Not like anything will REALLY be a shock.

That sounds exciting!

I'm honestly not "ganging up" on Legion. If anything the "collector elite" seem to be ganging up on a few people with contrary opinions. As far as Jomei and the others go my interactions with them have been civil.

Unless some almost unheard of company did, I'm pretty sure there are zero Black Moth figures out there.

Does Bandai have a Pestar figure?

Yes, but it was released about ten years ago and is now out of production. Bandai also did a Pestar from Ultraman Powered back in 1993, but that one is most likely even harder to find.

Thanks. Well, that's disappointing.

Now, I'm looking for the definitive Showa Ghidorah. I see Heisei all over the place, but not many Showa ones. Which right now is the popular one?

The upcoming Gigabrain Ghidorah looks pretty fantastic. And it's friggin' huge. However it's stylized and very expensive.

If you're looking for a vinyl of the Showa Ghidora I'm sorry to say you don't have many cheap options. Does it have to be realistic?

I just looked up the Gigabrain one, looks pretty fantastic. It cost about $200, so I may have to pick it up in the future.

As real as possible, but not overboard to the point of it being $1,000 of course. What is the best, cheapest option at the moment?

Wow, it would look great next to the Super Dragon King Ghidorah, haha. I may have to invest into that, looks really nice.

The Gigabrain figure is one of those toys that - if you don't get it as soon as it's released - you're going to regret it and pay a hefty price tag later.

Here's a grouping of Showa Ghidoras from my own collection...

What are the ones to the right. The first being next to the little orange one and the one all the way to the right?

Those are Bandai figures from the '80s. Kind of pricey since they're old, especially if you want them with tags.

They'll cost you over half of what the Gigabrain will, and they don't represent the monster nearly as well, IMO.

There's one at Ebay for $50, not too bad. Tags are nice, but not essential for me. Hmm, the Gigabarin one is just too great to pass up, but apparently in a few years they'll be rare and the price will be jacked up, that's disappointing. I may pick up that Bandai one, I have all the Ghidorahs, (with Grand and Kaiser arriving in the mail soon) except a Showa one.

You don't have enough.

Part of me regrets not buying the Gigabrain Ghidorah. That part of me is not my wallet, though.

Honestly if I get my teaching assistantship I'm going to wish I had bought it. ;\ Oh well, the Marmits of it are pretty awesome, too.
