No I just think that they just wanted to show that Godzilla was far more powerful then any of them.

What evidence do you have to suggest that they arent weak?

I don't see why it matters so flippin' much whether Godzilla was strong or the monsters were weak. It doesn't make it any more or less annoying the battles take one second, and there's really no evidence in my opinion to sway it too far either way.

OR they made Godzilla REALLY strong. Simple, no?

What evidence do you have to suggest he isn't super strong?

Quite a bit of the minor details of the film. He's the most inconsistent Godzilla of all time.

He has moments of breaking ALL laws of physics with demonstrations of ridiculous power, and moments that make you wonder why the Hell he's so damn pathetic.

EDIT: And it doesn't truly matter whether he's strong or weak when we're specifically talking about the film itself. It's not like in a review of the film is a fantasy match.

By the fact that he gets the crap beat out of him in seconds when he faces a monster slightly stronger than the others.

And, as Kane said, this Godzilla is so inconsistent. He beats the crap out of other kaiju, but then gets the tar beat out of himself, then turns right back round and beats the crap out of them. Makes no sense. But then, I don't think this movie was SUPPOSED to make. If it was, though, then this movie finally will be !skreeeonk! terrible to me.(c wat I did thar?)

I just wish they wouldn't have made the other monsters look so pathetic when fighting. I mean I know Godzilla would destroy Zilla any day but they could've at least let Zilla land a hit or two.

Final-Goji is my second favorite suit(1st is Mosu). I think it's one of the most well-balanced looks for Godzilla. It's very flexible. It's not overly bulky and not the least bit fat. Most importantly, this Goji looks capable of being both a menace and a hero, like many of the Showa suits.
That doesn't mean it's without faults, though. I admit, Final-Goji is a little too skinny - but to be fair, Gyakushu-Goji, Mosu-Goji, Soshingeki-Goji and Megaro-Goji are guilty of this as well. With the latter two, it's acceptable, because they portrayed the heroic underdog-style of Godzilla, and it works better in that context. However, when Godzilla is supposed to be a mighty destructive force, it's more convincing with more mass.
I do see why Final-Goji is called "Ratzilla" there is a ratty resemblance. I think it's due to the narrow snout & the ears, which are more noticeable than usual.
My biggest complaint would e the spines - they just look bad. They're small and skinny, when they should be much more prominent.
Overall, though, I think the positives of the suit outweigh the negatives.

FW Godzilla is overall pretty good. My main complaint is the head, which I don't care for. Otherwise I like the design and that he's been slimmed down and given more agility. A complaint with some suits (especially the Heisei) is that they're too bulky to give a sense of speed or agility. The FW suit allows for some of that. It's not my favorite, but it works. I still prefer G54, almost all of the Heiseis, and the rest of the Millenniums.

I like the ears just fine, but I think the suit's eyes were just too damn small. Beady eyes make him look more rodent-like to me.

Monster strength a good movie does not make. Ebirah never impressed me much and I'd still watch his film over GFW. Why? Because it's actually good. It doesn't matter that if the fights one sided in Godzilla's favor because it at least lasts longer then 10 seconds.

The face on FW screws it up for me. As far as the Mosugoji suit, it was ominous, and cool looking, but not my favorite Showa goji. That would go to '62 goji. If they made goji look like he did in 2000 in FW it would've looked cooler.

You can't even see his eyes for most of the movie, because they're overshadowed. I suppose that's why.
I do agree that he needs larger eyes. The ears don't bother me personally; I was just explaining why he seems to resemble a rat.

Yeah, there was no need to dredge up an almost 6 month old topic just to add something barely relevant. There's already a favorite Godzilla design thread. Use it.

Monster Discussion: Godzilla (2004/Final Wars)

Postby Godzilla165 » Wed Jul 04, 2012 5:32 pm

Why do alot of people hate his design? Personally, I love it because it shows that he is athletic, and a powerhouse. He also looks enormous up close and far away, he is ripped all the way to his tail, and his beam is probally the strongest Godzilla beam to date. Able to kill 98% of his opponents with just one, and he is extremley accurate with is as well. The only thing I would've wanted to be tweaked a bit, is bring out his eyes more. He has those badass fire colored eyes with dead black pupils (You see one of them on my avatar ;)). They were always hidden away, and over shadowed.

So what do you think of him, and what would you tweak and change to make him look even better?

Meh it's okay. I would have preferred the original idea from the concept art though.
