This weeks category is prog rock trios. The choices: Emerson Lake & Palmer or Rush
Emerson Lake & Palmer
Rules: Which of these bands do you think has more talent, do you prefer, and think has better music? This isn't a popularity contest, so don't say "Oh Rush is so much more popular! Screw ELP!". But have some reason behind why. Kinda curious to see what you all think.
Me personally, I prefer ELP. Every song is a wonder, and Karn Evil 9 is just a sick epic. On the other hand, Rush does have 2112. However, I feel that Emerson Lake & Palmer is more diverse and definitely has more replay value in their songs. I don't think there's a single song by Rush that when it comes on the radio I feel the urge to listen to...now ELP on the other hand...ELP also seems more influential in the prog rock world (after King Crimson, of course) though more people recognize Rush over Emerson Lake & Palmer. Hell, I'm sure 90% of rockers don't even know who King Crimson is. Or ELP. Which is disappointing considering how talented they both are.
