The effects packs weren't full figure price to start. The secodary retailers are the ones raising the prices.

And let me address the complete figure complaint. You are purchasing two complete figures: MechaGodzilla and a fully functioning Garuda. They then combine to make a third figure, Super MechaGodzilla. If you just want a SMG, I suppose the complaint is sort of valid but really you're buying a gure and an add on. Both are complete, fully functioning figures in their own right.

The problem is that this Mechagodzilla's whole gimmick IS the Super Mechagodzilla thing. Thats what makes him unique compared to the others.

^^while that may be true, most MG93 figures do not include the Garuda. Those figures aren't full of metal or fully articulated either. All I'm saying is that MG doesn't need Garuda.i

When I got my Godzilla, I had no interest in the effects pack. I still have no interest in it, and I think you are better off getting one of those army-men packs that go for cheap for tanks. The one for MG seems different with Garuda however.

Some tiny jets, some tiny maser tanks, a Super X2 and some big, fat, thick, clear, plastic stands that look ridiculous displayed with the Godzilla figure.

Quality wise I think all the SA lines are roughly the same. But there is a hell lot more material going into the SA Figures than the Revolts- they are about 3 times the weight. The initial price of $70 was unreasonable but $50-60 should be reasonable.

I don't care if Bandai does a MA Mothra, or not. I'm satisfied with my Revoltech Mothra, even if it's a bit small. Now, if they do a Battra, I'd be all over that!

Similar response for Anguirus. Don't give a rat's ass for the FW version. The late '60's/early '70's version was well done by Revoltech, won't buy another one. Now, if MA tackles the original GRA version, I MAY be interested!

Yup, that's pretty much it. As you mentioned on CT, these packs are basically 60% clear plastic stands and 40% tiny plastic jets and masers cannons...and they're going for about $60 or much higher stateside.

I paid far less than that for each of the Bandai Machine Chronicles sets (and this was well before I moved to Japan), which are bigger and *far* superior to these tiny, microscopic things. But whatever...hope folks are enjoying these.

FYI, AmiAmi has the MA Godzilla up on their site as a 're-order', & state that this one does not contain the 'bonus part'. Huh. Four months from the original release - that didn't take long.

I think it's lighting that can make the MonsterArts figures look pretty dynamic.
