It looks like he's trying to do Jack Kirby throwback art, sans being good.

I haven't read any Heroic Age titles, but that does look kinda' bad.

I stopped reading all Marvel titles with Heroic Age, including X-Men. But X-Men is sorta self-enclosed from the rest of the MU. Until AvsX

Eh probably not. I keep a small spiral notebook of comics Im looking for and the only Marvel titles on it are Thor 601-621. Marvel comics IMHO dont hold up over time. Crossovers just dont matter after awhile. Civil War doesnt matter anymore, nor does WWH, or anything really pre-2005. The only crossovers that matter are the ones directly involving The X-Men like Messiah Complex.

I have been on somewhat of a Spider-Man kick lately.

I just ordered Ultimate Spider-Man Vol 1. #1-#13

How good is the Ultimate series? I have only read the first issue, and that was when it first came out.

The only Marvel titles I read regularly are Punisher, and Captain America.

Now that they pulled that "reset to number 1" shit on me again, and split the Cap titles into the normal ongoing and "Captain America and Bucky", I only buy CAaB (it actually follows the previous numbering scheme).

I used to collect Thor religiously, but after the Jurgens run ended, it took Marvel too long to get a new series up and running, and I ended up losing interest. I keep thinking I ought to grab the back issues and get back into the title, but with comic prices creeping higher all the time, I'm trying to keep my monthly pull-sheet a bit leaner than it was in the old days.

Ultimate Spider-Man takes a dump after issue 40 IMHO. Afte they did the black suit and Venom it just got horrible.

Ultimate X-Men is the same. They try SO HARD to redo the characters that they skreeonk them up. The Phoenix in Ultimate X-Men is shittier then Galactus in FF:RotSS.

The Ultimates is a GREAT gook. Sadly it didnt get into the numbers of the other titles. Like 3 series all about 6-8 issues long.

Ultimate Fantastic Four IMHO is the best Ultimate title. Sadly like all the other Ultimate books, it got shit-canned with Ultimatum. But Ultimates was brought back as Ultimate Avengers and so was X-Men (God knows why)...

I love Thor. And I like Tony Stark (but hate Iron Man) and Ive yet to watch Cap because...Chris Evans is NOT Steve Rogers IMHO. He's too young, NOT that buff and a horrible actor.

But whenever I see this, I get the feeling it's going to be all celebrity names, lame 90s lite-sexual jokes, buddy-buddy 1Up shit like Gimli and Legolas and finally little on SPFX.

..and The Hulk is in it. Im sorry, THE HULK!? So how are they going to explain THE HULK being an Avenger here? How is The Avengers vs The Hulk not a PERFECT first movie? But no...

...or it could be that I find Avengers to be a boring comic. Ive read ONE good Avenger comic since 2000.

But Steve Rogers was like, a young twentysomething year old when he joined the army and became Captain America. And Captain America is buff. And he is probably a horrible actor.

But Chris Evan does a good job playing Captain America. Don't judge, yo.

Except even when Cap was thawed, he wasnt acting like some 20something year old 1940s Bible-belt sammaritan. He was The Elder Statesman. He's THE DEFINITION of The Elder Statesmen in the Marvel universe.

And he wasnt flash frozen on his first mission. He spent like 3-4s fighting the Nazis.

Yeah, but this isn't the Captain America of the comics.

Hell, this isn't Ultimate Cap either.

I really doubt a frozen 20something year old will come out of the ice thinking like an statesman. He is, you know, just unfrozen some 60 years later. Brains don't age when they're frozen...

The point is - I hate Chris Evans. He's a pretty boy with a CGI'd up body trying to act like Ultimate Captain America and I dont like it.
