Have fun with One Piece, it's not gold by any standards, but it's loads of fun. If craziness and over the top fighting and characters are your thing.

Well, you are talking to a massive Dragon Ball fan here, so I'm not worried about not liking it.

I've already noticed the incredibly infectious idealism Luffy exudes.

Hopefully my local public library will be getting the first several of volumes of the manga soon. I just hope I don't have to put them on hold like I did the first five Naruto volumes...

An Aquarion sequel exists, called Aquarion EVOL.

I don't know how to feel about this. Been a long time since I watched original Aquarion, I am told the sequel is pretty damn good though. Imageboards seem to like it.

Well on an anime related note I just saw this weird anime called Polar Bear Cafe. It was literally about a polar bear running a cafe with a penguin and a panda who's unemployed wanting a job.

Yamato 2199 which is the remake of the original Space Battleship Yamato, or Star Blazers as it is known in the United States- premiered this past week in Japan. The 1st episode is easily available to stream through a simple Google search, however if you want to PM me, I can send a link out. I am biased because the original is one of my favorite Anime series of all time, but I have to say this series looks incredible! The ship designs are basically the same as the original, but they move much more fluidly, and in CG/cell shaded they look great. The character designs are improved, but still faithful to the originals so they are easily recognizable. Also since the story is being told in hindsight, little details can be added that were inconcievable in the original series. I give this series my most enthusiastic endorsement for anyone who enjoys space opera anime series. With so many lackluster titles appealing mostly to younger audiances, and comedy mindsets, it is nice to have a serious sci-fi epic again!

It seems like a new Devilman manga called "Devilman Grimoire" that just started in Japan. It's good to see Devilman coming back since the last Devilman related media that we saw was in 2004 with a god awful live action film.

Well I thought I would give this topic a bump since it's been down a little while. The anime I have been watching now are Bleach,Deadman Wonderland,Cashern Sins. Waiting for Person 4 the Animation to get localized and considering buying Panty and Stocking just waiting for the price to come down.
Apparently SWTOR said that I can invite 25 people for a 7 day trial of the game. PM me if interested.

About a week ago I finally stumbled across a place where I can watch UFO Robo Grendizer the entire series english subbed. I know some enthusiastic fans had been working on subbing this series for a long time, but it is nice to finally see! I've seen most of the important episodes from the beginning, middle and end in raw Japanese, and of course the heavily edited and poorly dubbed Jim terry Forve-5 version-but its nice to see them with subs, good quality ones at that!

*Also just on a side note- I dont want any fan that was introduced to Anime via Cartoon Network to think I am down on them, but I only ask that you try to expand your horizons. If the only anime you have ever seen is based on what CN force fed the North American masses, I feel sorry for those people. I mean I give CN credit for expanding the popularity and awareness of Anime, but there is just so much more. Anime has been seen in North America since the late 1960's... Just think about it.

I used to watch Anime online and that it's just with my connection videos take forever to load. Than theres the matter of videos being taken down than you have to go hunting down a new website to watch the episodes.

Anyone care to do a 2 Anime 2 Week Challenge?

It'll involve watching an anime every week (either an entire series, a certain chapter or a movie) for 2 weeks then reviewing it. I'll have to see if Stuckey will approve it.

I would be happy to take part in that. We would have to limit it to shorter series though since I think series that are 51 episodes + would be pushing it.

I think anime series like DBZ, Naruto or Sailor Moon would be limited to a specific arc.

I haven't watched much anime (I've seen a little more than a dozen or so different series) but has anyone watched Black Butler? It seems pretty unique and I really like the gothic artwork and setting. Picked up both seasons but didn't find any topics or discussions on it here on TK. So far my favorite Anime is Elfen Lied, which seems kind of cliche I know. There are so many elements of the show that I love though, even if it's a bit rushed and a few things from the manga aren't explained.

I'm down. I'm going to start Mushi-Shi right now (literally). After that I might try to go back to Darker Than Black since I haven't seen the second season.

Well...I'm being mind skreeeonked lately by my girlfriend, who keeps constantly singing happily the Sailor Moon theme song. And its just killing me, I'm about to break! @_@

Sadly, I can tell that my nightmare is not over yet....

NEW SAILOR MOON ANIME COMING IN 2013

The idol group Momoiro Clover Z, publisher Kodansha, and creator Naoko Takeuchi announced on Friday that a new anime adaptation of Takeuchi’s Sailor Moon manga is being produced. The new anime series is aimed for release next summer, and Momoiro Clover Z will perform a theme song.

Momoiro Clover Z made the announcement during a live event celebrating the 20th anniversary of the manga. Momoiro Clover Z sang the first Sailor Moon anime’s theme song “Moonlight Densetsu” at the event via a live video feed from France, where they are guests of Japan Expo.

I'd watch it. I used to watch the Sailor moon English dub when I little when it was on Toonami. and to the person above I never got the whole Ranma hype. I guess since by the time I started watching anime (about age 7-9) It had ended and I just had no interest to go watch it since the characters look so similar to the characters in Inuyasha since it's the same person. For instance Happosai and the flea guy from inuyasha look almost exactly alike.

^^

All Rumiko Takahashi characters look the same.

Ranma 1/2 is AMAZING! I LOVE it. I dont want it remade, or a new series. IMHO when they finally finished Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki, it ruined it. A new Sailor Moon anime might work. I still consider Sailor Moon R the best of the series.
