I mean, think about this: is sexual relations between identical twins acceptable? Genetically, they are the same person.

Within my group of friends, we have initiation practices. They're rather simple: You must watch a Youtube video named Goosh Goosh and you have to answer this question: You encounter the female you from a parallel universe. Would you have sex with them?

Finally, Mitochondria Eve and Y-Chromosomal Adam exist. These are two individuals from thousands upon thousands of years ago and every human on the face of the planet possesses DNA from them...that means those two probably slept with family members. When the human species bottlenecks (its happened many times before), sex between relatives is a must for the survival of the species.

Now, I'm not saying go and skreeonk your family members. I'm saying that sexual practice can be cultural/societal.

Thanks for the answers guys, this is what I was looking for. While I agree about the cultural/social effect/pressures on something of this nature especially in the U.S, I think I have to give into societal pressures for now and bury this. I think if it were just her and I left in this world, we'd skreeonk the shit out of each other, but I don't want the strained/awkward family relationships especially for her to have to deal with. I may still talk to her about her feelings at some point, she is my best friend, and we can talk about everything, (I've even seen her naked). I don't think there's anything wrong with step brother/sister(as long as theyre not half sisters or brothers) by the way. But then again I'm bias because I want to have sex with my cousin...

BTW does it make any difference in the fact that it's our house/apartment, and it's only us two living there? (my cousin and I)?

It really depends on the culture I think. If you're up for it, then by all means tap it. For me, it's forbidden territory! If I ever "got together" with a cousin, then it would certainly make things around my family and relatives just plain awkward (just watch Arrested Development ). I'll just stick with women who are not related to me at all thank you.

My issue at the moment is that I have many girl friends who are religious (I am not saying what religion), but thing is that even though we get along, they really don't see me as a romantic interest and I don't know whether it's because of their customs, or because my cousin who I live with is better looking and more charming than I am (now that I think of it....).
