Zombie Kaiju?

I'm posting this here to ask a question I've never heard before: how could zombies be incorporated into a Godzilla flick? It seems like an interesting idea, what do you guys think?

It would of been somewhat nightmarish if whenever GMK Godzilla wrecked havoc zombies would spawn from the dead.

Hey, if LP/Toho could pull it off and have it make logical sense, then I'd be all for it. Reanimated kaiju/cyborgs are pretty awesome IMO.

I was actually expecting the kaiju faze to replace the zombie faze with this new Godzilla installment. Imo the vampire and zombie trend has played itself out.

Plenty of movies use radiation as a means of explaining the creation of zombies, maybe Godzilla's (or another monster's) fallout could create an army of the dead. It'd definitely be a different type of G movie.

Not counting GMK Godzilla being energized by angry spirits, I think it'd be neat to see an undead/zombie monster take on Godzilla. Monster X had a cool skeletal look, something else in that vein would be very interesting visually.

I really don't want this. Mainly cause we already had an "undead" or "ghost" Godzilla. Twice. The first was GMK and the second was Kiryu (it did have his spirit so it kinda is Ghost Godzilla). It was cool the first time, they managed to do it again the second time but make it fresh by making his corpse be brought back by science instead of spirits but a third time would just be overkill. The two times they did it makes those incarnations special much like how Burning Godzilla is unique because well he's the only one like that.

Every incarnation is special in some way that makes them unique and I think making "undead/ghost" Godzilla a common thing would take away some of GMK Godzilla and Kiryu's appeal. Plus undead should be an exception in Godzilla films, not the norm. As a side note I'm pretty sure Monster X isn't undead, he's just got a weird biology where some of his bones are outside like a bugs and acts as armor and the rest is inside him.

There's a couple Ultraman kaiju that are more or less zombies. There's Sealizar from Tiga and another one from Neos, I believe. Geronimon from the original series had the ability to ressurect kaiju so I guess they could be considered zombies.

I get the feeling Toho doesn't allow this. IDW has been doing zombie and Cthulhu storylines and Godzilla can't be involved. I don't know if that applies to movies or not though.

Godzilla creating an army of zombies would actually be pretty cool. I could see it happening in several ways:

1. Godzilla's radiation would mutate the corpses and bring them back to life.

2. Godzilla would capture the spirits of the dead and use them to create zombies.

3. Every piece that falls off Godzilla would reform into a zombie.

When has Godzilla ever done that? When has Godzilla ever been capable of necromancy? Just because he was a collection of souls in GMK, doesn't mean he can control them like a Lich can. Besides, zombies are just animate corpses, aren't they devoid of souls?

3. Every piece that falls off Godzilla would reform into a zombie.

So every piece of flesh that falls off Godzilla would be a human zombie... yeah okay sure... I could see if you were going with a Reptilecus route but this just makes no sense.

Zombies, like everything else I do get tired of from time to time ,and end up moving onto something else that piques my interest. I do return to that particular sub-genre. And zombifying other monsters is fun also. Last year one my favorite books was Eric S. Brown's BIGFOOT WAR 2:DEAD IN THE WOODS. One of featuring the southeast terrorized by P.O.ed Sasquatches. The dead Feet(as their called in the novel) end up releasing a virus which, you guess it, raises the dead ,and spreads like wildfire. By the end of the crypto-carnage, the virus has mutated so it also affects the Feet also, and we end up with scads of Zombified Bigfoots. Some which show up in the third book, Food Chain. Dungeons & Dragons gave us the Dracolich, undead dragons.

Also, one thing that I was hoping for last year in IDW's zombie-centric INFESTATION crossover. With Hasbro's Transformers and G.I. Joe in the mix. I though it would be a sweet way to re-introduce another Hasbro property, the INHUMANOIDS. More specifically, the Inhumanoid known as D-Compose, the Undead Horror.

The monster sized zombie ,who can also transform people, and other living creatures into zombie like horrors subject to his will. And they end up growing pretty big as a result of his touch as well. Also, fans of the show might remember that he had legions of skeletons warriors to boot. Along with somekind of skeletal bat monsters, and somekind of crab/spider creatures as well. So monster sized zombies can be done ,and done well.

The other night, I was watching VARAN THE UNBELIEVABLE ! , where as those who have seen it know. The title kaiju is supposedly killed after being tricked into swallowing explosives. I was thinking of this threat after viewing it. And I thought if Toho allowed Godzilla to get involved in the first INFESTATION, have Varan's carcass end up getting infected with the virus, then coming back as a zombie. The idear for the Zombie-Varan's look would've been a gruesome, cool sight. As a result of the final blast that finished him off in the flick's end. The Obake's rib cage is broken open from lower gut, and exposed. On top of that, Varan's lower jaw is no longer there as well, taking off with the sternim. Also, a lot of sea crabs that had made their home in Varan's carcass, are dropping out ocasionally, and cab be seen crawling around throughout the ruined ribcage, and across his body. Also various other things can be seen crawling underneath the monster's skin. And despite his underarm wings ruined appaearance, Varan can still fly. What do you think ?

Your thinking of two things that sound strange together. It's like dinosaurs and aliens.......It sounds "unique" The thought of Zombie Kaiju is something that i always thought of too. What i imagined of zombie kaiju is not GMK Godzilla,but kaiju brought back from the dead.......and there one goal is to kill whatever killed them (for example, lets say Spacegodzilla came back as a zombie...i would imagine that he would attack godzilla first)

This will most likely never happen. Zombies have an appeal because of how they appeal to people who appreciate survival stories and also give people free reign to kill other human beings/show horrific gorey deaths and not feel guilty because well...they're undead. Vampires have a level of mystique and romance to them that also appeals to a certain audience and that will most likely always be there. Kaiju...is sort of hard to get the niche right.
