Baragon (GMK) VS Varan

Rules normal.
Baragon has been asleep for a slightly longer period of time than in GMK.

Alrighty, its gonna be close, bit I say due to Baragon's agility and valiant spirit, he will take the match. What do you guys think?

I think Varan would win this. He can(sort of) fly and can escape some of Baragon's attacks. Although Baragon can dig underground and attack from below, Varan can just fly before he reaches him.

Varan doesn't use his flight often though. He used it like, once in the whole movie!

Also, Varan is really, really aggressive. I don't think he will be trying to avoid Baragon, but trying to rip his guts out. Now, this Baragon is not only really tenacious, but is pretty smart and crafty as well, and likes to ambush. And against an aggressive monster like Varan, springing a trap or an ambush wouldn't really be all that difficult. Overall, a very close fight, but I think Baragon has this by a slight margin due to his intelligence and Varan's exploitable aggression.

The only two reasons i'm so unsure about using Varan in an fm is because we dont know his full capabilities considering he hasnt fought any other kaiju.plus i have yet to see Varan The Unbelievable so that doesnt help much either. but here's how I see it:

Varan:Flight,Aggression,a presumably armored hide,and of course teeth and claws
Baragon:Burrowing,Intelligence,and see last two traits above

With the hide and weaponry cancelling each other out, i see this coming down to Aerial Aggression vs Underground Smarts.If Varan takes to the skies and/or places out of Baragon's reach,will Baragon be smart and patient enough to wait it out and calculate a counter-strike +avoid being dive-bombed? Likewise with Varan: If Baragon goes under,can Varan control himself from going bat-shit crazy and falling for a trap? I see Varan taking this,but just slightly,because with extreme pressure from an assault comes the possibility that Baragon may or may not be fast enough to counter it.I'm leaning toward the former.

I say Baragon wins. Varan will more than likely be on the ground during this fight, and Baragon has home turf advantage there. Baragon is a smart and fierce attacker, and he'll keep going after Varan like he did Godzilla. Varan will give a good fight, but Baragon wins with tenacity and brains.

Varan used his flight once for a long period of time. He never fought anything but puny humans. Its likely that Varan, being a triphibious monster, would be comfortable fighting in any environment. Its also likely that his flight ability would be very useful in battle. Emember, both kaiu have amored hides. Both are extremely aggressive. This is definitely a tough call.

In the end I'd have to. Give it to Baragon. With his bulldog jaws Baragon put up a fight against a monster who was FAR more powerful than himself. His method of creating traps will likely keep Varan on his heels.

I say Baragon wins because he has actually displayed fighting feats rather than just smashing buildings Varan never really struck me as impressive (Granted, Baragon isnt all that hot either but hes better than Varan)

This may or may not be relevant, but wasnt Baragon only attacking Godzilla because it was his holy duty? Being a Guardian Monster and all...

Baragon wins. I just don't see how Varan can fight that well, especially against something that can dig, and is tenacious.
