I'm gonna try and get some friends to go with me if there's a midnight release. It's only too bad kaiju costumes are so hard ;)

If they film this for IMAX 3D I would think about a midnight showing for that. Otherwise no. I go during the day at my local theater because they crank the surround sound for all the old people during matinees. =)

In a heartbeat.

Even if I would have to call in at work, I would be there for a midnight release. I believe friends of mine would be surprised if they found out about a midnight release and I said I wasn't going. Shocked even.

Basically, it boils down to this, are you a fan or not?

Yes I am and therefore I will be there come snowstorm, tornado, hurricane (okay maybe not hurricane). But you get the picture.

Us Godzilla fans should not only go, but grab every ex-girlfriend/ex-boyfriend, brother/sister, friend/enemy, current girlfriend(s)/boyfriend(s) that you can to buy tickets.

(Be careful of bring more than one significant other, as chances are, they can and will fight. This may cause general audience members only Godzilla movie memory to be negative because of that crazy "cat fight" that broke out in the middle of the movie. Then again it could cause them to come back for the sequel because they remember the first movie because of the fight and they be like,
"hey remember that crazy cat fight that happened when we saw the last one?"
"Yeah, is there another one?"
"Yeah"
"we should go see it.")

In all seriousness, this movie needs support, I'm personally gonna attend the midnight release, go home, go to sleep, then wake up and go to the earliest playing of it in it's first day, and all subsequent playings after that. Of course, roping as many friends as I can into it along the way to each showing.

If you don't go, then you should no longer call yourself a Godzilla fan unless said non-attendance is for a severe emergency, then you are excused. You might as well just call yourself a casual audience viewer if you plan on ditching a possible midnight release only to hit it up the next day or so.

If you dodge Godzilla's possible midnight release to instead attend on the same night the midnight release of Twilight: Vampire Moon Sex Sequel No.27, then you sir or madam, can kindly go skreeonk yourself.

Typically I don't go to the movies unless it's summer and I'm invited with friends or if the movie itself is absolutely worth it.

The only midnight premier that I have ever attended was for King Kong back in 2005, and shockingly I did not fall asleep!

Would I be on board for the midnight premier of Godzilla when it comes out? HELLZ YEAH!

It would depend on two things
A. Did I have friends to go with
and
B. What would I be doing the next day

But I'd at least consider it.

I probably wouldn't, because when its that late, I usally fall asleep in the middle of the movie, I'd probably go that morning.

You haven't gotten a full theatre experience until you've had a midnight screening. Nothing beats being in a packed crowd of weirdos at 2 in the morning watching a banged up print of Aliens and everyone cheers and shouts for Ripley when she walks out in the Power Loader suit and says "Get away from her you BITCH".

I would love to see a Godzilla film at midnight.

Damn right I'm going. First I'm seeing it in 2D at midnight, then again in 3D cause I never saw a giant monster film in theaters in 3D (man people in the 50's and 60's were lucky) and if I couldn't bring all my friends the first two times see it a third time with the rest of them.

Besides, this franchise needs all the support it can get.

JUST the midnight showing? Odds are I'm gonna see it at the midnight showing, then later in either 3D or Digital, depending on which I saw it on the midnight showing, and then a third time with my friends. I'm that dedicated.

I had a really crappy experience at the midnight open for Harry Potter 5, and have avoided midnight releases since. But I'll def break that rule for a new Godzilla flick.

I've always had fun at midnight releases. The people there are normally very passionate about the property, although I doubt a Godzilla film will draw the amount of people that the Harry Potter or Hunger Games movies did.
