Tim Burton doing stop motion claymation and in black and white, this could have me forgiving him for Alice in Wonderland.

I think this is a full feature length remake of his old live-action short. I look forward to this. Sadly, no Vincent Price. :(

I really liked the short film, though it was quite sad. I'll be looking forward to this.

Crap Vincent Price was the other short he did. -_-
But yes, the Frankenweenie short was very sad. Now that I've seen both, it's just a kid-friendly Pet Semetary!

I think I said it in another thread, but I think this movie will make a trilogy with "Nightmare Before Christmass" and "Corpse Bride", both in style and having a dead dog as a character (First the ghost dog Zero, next that skeleton dog, now a "Frankenstein" dog... though there was a mummy dog in the book "The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories").

I'm one of the few who enjoyed Dark Shadows so I'm excited for this. If anyone wants to see the original it's included, along with another short called Vincent, on the Nightmare Before Christmas DVD/Blu-ray.

I saw a trailer for this when I went to see The Avengers. Seems pretty interesting.
Apparently SWTOR said that I can invite 25 people for a 7 day trial of the game. PM me if interested.

After seeing the newest "Homage" trailer which is such a throwback to the old monster movie trailers complete with voice over. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MquUxWXEOLU&hd=1 , I couldn't help but more excited for this movie than I was before. The trailer gives a lot more information plot wise and I do admit I feel a little spoiled its just enough to get me pumped. Can't wait to see this.

Ah, yes, I've been seeing a lot of commercials for this. The "Turtle Monster" caught my attention... ;)

I always thought that turtle monster looked like Gamera. I wonder if he'll shoot fire in the film.

So they are making monster versions out of common pets. It's suprising they went with Gamera for the turtle, when the others are more "Universal classics".

I'm not against Gamera getting more support. Anyone seeing it this weekend?

I LOVED the new Frankenweenie. I watched the original before seeing it and while a good short the remake really does a lot of things better and adds a lot of cool stuff like the monster pets. There's lots of nice fairy tale logic at work. I'm a Burton fan to begin with so maybe I'm not to be trusted but this is really his best movie in a long time. Maybe all of them should be animated from now on. I also loved the not so subtle jab at modern schools.

I do want to see this movie, too bad that I'm broke. It's good to see that Burton finally made a great movie again. I feel like Sleepy Hollow was his last great film and Corpse Bride was his last film that I thought was decent. I thought Planet of the Apes, Alice in Wonderland and his remake of Willy Wonka where pretty bad.

If you haven't seen "Frankenweenie" then get to it right away!! There's a homage to 'Gamera' and Japanese daikaiju with a giant [stop-motion] monster turtle named 'Shelly' rampaging through the town and a fairgrounds plus other homages to everything from "Rodan" to 'Gremlins', to 'Dracula vs. Frankenstein' and you name it. The film is an absolute blast and the giant turtle monster's rampage is simply brilliant!! Here's a set of character posters which reveal some of the creatures including 'Shelly':

I finally watched it. I loved every moment of it, I plan to buy this on Blu-Ray. I admit that I almost cried when the Dog died for the first time. I think it's a great mixed of being a sad, funny and heart warming film at the same time. Too bad Hotel Transylvania and Taken 2 have been over shadowing this film at the box office. Both films have more marketing and it being a B&W film could have turn people off.
