Wishful thinking

I see the similarities and I guess I'm guilty of looking for foreshadowing :)

Would be very nice! Now if we get a Biollante I hope it has a hidden Mothra in there to foreshadow something as well.

That would be nice, but it is almost certainly a coincidence - that or the artist just based it off of that picture or a similar one.

Wow, that's a HUGE leap in logic... BIOLLANTE showed Godzilla's back, Criterion's GODZILLA cover art showed Godzilla's back, so Criterion might be considering releasing BIOLLANTE?

1. Criterion has no plans for any other Godzilla/Toho FX films.
2. The Criterion guys who worked on the GODZILLA discs are big fans of the classic Toho FX films. So if they were to do more Toho films, its much more likely they'd go for another Honda/Tsuburaya film from the studio's Golden Age.
3. Criterion hired commercial artist Bill Sienkiewicz to do the GODZILLA cover art. Bill drew up some rough designs, Criterion picked one they liked, and Bill created the final artwork. So the pose/design originated with Bill.
4. Miramax owns the rights to BIOLLANTE, and have Echo Bridge set to do a DVD/Blu-ray once they get new HD materials from Toho.
5. Wouldn't Godzilla's back be seen in pretty much every Godzilla movie? I'd bet the are several similar shots in the series over the past 50+ years.

Geez, I wasn't even close to being serious....that scene just caught me off guard...eerily similar...underneath the picture I put "wouldn't it be nice...just saying?" That isn't speculating, just wishing

I will refrain from posting here in these forums from now on

When I saw OP's screenshot I assumed it was from G85 myself.

I don't see what Keith did that's so bad. He was setting the record straight, lest someone take the original post way too seriously. Idiotic rumors start for the simplest of reasons.

I think it should be worth noting that Gojira also showed Godzilla's back in a similar scene.
But I, that am not shaped for sportive tricks

I, that am rudely stamped, and want love's majesty
To strut before a wanton ambling nymph.

Lol...it would be nice for Criterion to go back to Godzilla, though (I'd love to see either KKvsG or MvsG).

Does it really merit its own thread? You could have just posted it as a reply in an existing Criterion or Biollante thread...

Exactly. Even Emperor5353 were 100% serious, it probably wouldn't rank in the Top 10 list of Godzilla fan crazy rumors/jumping to conclusions. So there's always a chance that someone will take it wrong and I don't see any harm in setting the record straight. :D
