But on to Daikaiju Battle Royale, what can I say? well for starters, it sucks, thats the shortest way I can describe it

First of all, I hate the fact that you did not make the levels repeat (as in no endings on one side or another), this is just pissing me off

Second, while some aspacts of the gameplay are nice (such as roaring to recharge, and multiple "power" attacks), its just so bad because its too damn simple, this is like a game for little kids, little kids who are 2 1/2, not once did I have a legitimate challenge (the only challenge is the limited space to fight, which SHOULD not be there), I just spam the roar button like crazy, and I ALWAYS win

Third, the damn password for Anguirus does not work, I do understand that the game is not finished, but I don't want to always have to beat a battle to unlock him, I want to use the damn password god damnit!

I do HOPE that you will fix this shit, because otherwise, this is going to be an Epic Failure of a game


Having the levels loop around is a bad idea. While this might not seem like a bad idea with the available roster on the demo, characters like Zilla with speed will be able to abuse a looping background. Slow characters would never be able to catch him and he'd just stay back and spam his fire breath at a distance.

I agree with you on spamming the special attacks. As some others were mentioning before, I agree the physical attacks should do some more damage, and in addition, the specials should be decreased a bit. I think this would help balance the battle system a bit.

The password works fine for me.

I'm not a game making expert, I'm just learning how to make games on the side for fun and I know my game is not perfect, but still I feel I have no reason to give up on game making because of that, and neither should LC. Practice makes perfect.

My true love though is in drawing and creating characters and if I get involved in the video game industry, I'd want to be making the models, graphics, and animation, not coding. In regards to that you said,

When it comes to the gameplay, I don't think they've praised it as gold. I believe everyone has had some suggestions to improve it. I feel what everyone likes the most about this game is the effort I put into the monster designs and their behaviors, I think they know the gameplay nothing complicated.

This isn't a democracy. Critique and peer evaluation is always encouraged and a positive way to grow and develop skills, but your apparent brand of "harsh criticism" is just an excuse to post snobbish and rude comments. We have deemed your apparent "methods" to be offensive and excessive, therefore they are. If you don't think that the staff requesting you be civil, constructive, and as a result contribute back to an artist is unreasonable, then quite frankly you can leave.

Since you claim to be part of "Game Maker" forums, then you apparently have some background and can see the production of this game from a perspective that others cannot. You have the capacity to provide insight and critique that is worth more then ours, but yet you decide to complain about frivolous stuff like secret codes not working and write it off as an "epic failure" regardless of there not being many fan projects that can compare to it in its scope. You're either lying about credentials, or you're just a dick.

I just tried out the new demo, and it was pretty fun.

However, I haven't seen Orga at all, and I've played all 3 characters. A little help, please?

And I still don't know what the purpose in ducking is.

I liked what you did with side-scrolling in Exitium. You could use this for some larger maps or just for campaign levels.


I'm glad you enjoyed the game! Yes I did draw all of the graphics for the game. Since it was all my artwork drawn in the same style, it made all the monsters fit together. Sure it was alot of effort, but I love drawing Kaiju :) I wanted to submit artwork to IDW for covers, but unfortunately I saw this written right underneath IDW's information in the comic:

"IDW Publishing does not read or accept unsolicited submissions of ideas, stories, or artwork"

That was a disappointment for me. But, maybe since IDW has been doing alot of interviews and such for Tohokingdom, maybe Arbok or Chris would be able to get them to look at my work?

Yeah, I'm not super happy with the Gigan soundeffects either, but I couldn't find his actually flying soundeffects from the movies, so I tried to improvise.

I do want to add a destruction mode in a similar to Exitium, but I may add that after the first release.

Godzilla '73! Awesome! I must say, he's got to be one of the best characters thus far, visual-wise. You did a great job with him, from his scales to his shiny silver dorsal fins.

I suggest adding at least 1 boss to the game, considering it's 2D based, adding a boss will make a decent final challenge, the only one I have in mind is Desghidorah

Since your gonna have a "destruction" mode, this will be a good place to add military enemies to make it more entertaining

Not sure if this could be possible, but I would like to see a scrapped Kaiju from the movies (besides bagan because he is overrated) in the roster

Now, I like the graphics in this, such as the monster textures and colors used on them, I also like how the arenas look so far, although I would more enjoy "special" stuff in the background (like King Ghidorah flying in the background of Planet X)

Overall, this game MIGHT have a bright future instored for it
