King Ghidorah on Loan?

Postby Patrick Alan » Sun Feb 26, 2012 2:14 pm

All through the Showa series King Ghidorah has showed up being controlled by a a new alien race. In Godzilla vs. Monster Zero he was being controlled by a race of aliens, in Destroy All Monsters King Ghidorah was being controlled by a new alien race, then in Godzilla vs. Gigan he comes back under controll by yet again a new race of aliens! Is Ghidorah on loan to the other aliens?

You can add Zone Fighter to your list as well, with these two episodes:

http://www.tohokingdom.com/tv/zone_fighter/zf05.htm
http://www.tohokingdom.com/tv/zone_fighter/zf06.htm

So to summarize:

196X - Xilien
1972 - Space Hunter Nebula M Aliens
1973 - Garoga
1999 - Kilaakian

You can theorize that Garoga aliens piggybacked off the Nebulians if you want (they used both Gigan and Ghidorah and Godzilla vs. Megalon confirmed the alien race was still active) but there is nothing in the show to indicate any relation to them.

...maybe the Showa King Ghidorah is just really easy to control?

Ghidorah whores himself out to whoever can afford him. It gets the bills paid so stop judging him.

I always decided it was because he was insane. Like, just look at him. Cackling non stop, shooting gravity bolts anywhere and everywhere, heads waggling around and bonking into each other. Trust me, that guy is not mentally stable.

Though there is nothing in the films to support this, has anyone given thought that maybe some of these different alien races have their own Ghidorah?

I always felt it was weird that this cosmic horror/planet killer was easily controlled by a number of aliens, i mean i'll give the Xiliens some slack since it was a nice plot twist, but after awhile it made Ghidorah seem less like a planet killing super kaiju and more like just another kaiju, but that's just my opinion and the insane thing probably lends itself to that.

Is there any credence to the idea that the Garoga had a hand in King Ghidorah's creation? If that was the case and he was another war monster, then he would already have been predisposed to mind control technology. Possibly was something they weren't prepared to contain and had lost it for several thousand years.

The Garoga claim they made him but that could easily just have been a bluff. It's possible that Ghidorah is a natural monster or a monster of unknown origin and aliens just keep stumbling upon him ( or maybe he keeps stumbling into them when trying to destroy worlds) and they see a prefect weapon.

The funny thing is he doesn't act any different when being controlled. It's scary how something that is supposedly being control can still act just as wild and chaotic as he does when acting on his own free will.

When discussing bits and pieces of in-universe canon, it seems unfair to give accusations of lying. If the Garoga did create King Ghidorah (and considering King Ghidorah was used in the earliest drafts and proposals as a "Terror Beast" example, it seems to be the likely origin), then he clearly was beyond their control and run wild throughout the universe for some time before the consecutive beatings weakened him enough for them to regain control.

Maybe, maybe not. Who knows.

I'll admit, I kinda prefer King Ghidorah be a thing that is as almost as old as the universe itself instead of being made. Like a living natural disaster.

I figured the aliens just wanted the best muscle they could get. KG seems to like destruction, so maybe he's willing to be controlled in order to destroy the planet that resist him the most. He's not willing to let Earth get away scot free.

Like in Monster Zero when he damaged the control device while being mind-controlled.

I always assumed that after Ghidorah lost on Earth the Xians took control over him in a weakened state and after that his mind was so weak he became easy to control.

If there was ever a monster that should have been able to talk it was Ghidorah atleast then aliens could just side with him and not control him.

Maybe he has some kinda form of mental telepathy, and
the aliens just talk to him and trick him into thinking there on his side.

I just like to believe that all the aliens gather to see which race gets to use Ghidorah for the week, after the week is up the whole process starts over.

Not really. I think when the Xiliens went"into the future"they lost control of Ghidorah. The aliens from Godzilla vs. Gigan probably found him and controled him. When the aliens controling him were defeated, they lost control of him again, and it keeps going like this until Ghidorah died.
