Different Godzilla Theory

As everyone knows, in the Godzilla series there are so many different Godzillas . I used to wonder why, but I came up with this theory. Everytime Godzilla gets injured or something, parts of his skin falls off (like they found in Godzilla vs. Biollante) And the DNA starts to regenerate into a new Godzilla. Just like how Gaira and Sanda spawned from Frankenstein. Anyone else agree with this theory?

On top of different continuities throughout the series, Toho needed new suits because the old ones would wear out (this the justification for why Godzilla looks butt-ugly in SoG but awesome only three years earlier). Not only that, but Godzilla cells don't seem to have the ability to be dismembered from the host body and sustain its own life and creat a new Godzilla. So no, I don't agree with your theory...at all.

^ Agreed. And in-universe, why would the Godzillas only show up one at a time? If there really are twenty or so of them, you'd think they'd run into each other from time to time. That was the theory for why Godzilla travelled so far to confront Biollante, wasn't it? He could sense that they were related. So if there really were multiple full-blown versions of him running around, I imagine they'd actively seek each other out as quickly as possible. And he doesn't seem concerned about that in any of the movies, so...yeah.

There are? In the Showa there were two at best, counting the 1954 and the one that attacked from 55-75 (or 99 if you look at DAM). The Heisei series had one. The Millennium movies all had one. Each series had a Godzilla offspring, which has nothing to do with the this theory of course. Only the chunk of DNA that eventually spawned Spacegodzilla would really count.

Anyone else agree with this theory?
I do not as a result of the above, not to mention the fact that we have no evidence or reason to speculate that. No offense.

The theory definitely applies to Toho Frankenstein and the Gargantuas (which would be a sweet band name), but not really any other monsters.

Either you're joking about this and just want to see the "What the hell?" reactions from people, or you're not joking and want to know what people thought of your "theory". You can't mix the two together.

It's an interesting theory. Godzilla was definitely falling to pieces in Gigan, maybe that explains why the following Godzillas looked so different!
