if Varan was in GTTHM and MZ

If Varan was in Ghidorah and Monster Zero do you think the movies would have been better. Their already my faviorte movies but a 3 sided battle between godzilla, rodan and varan would have been cool.

Varan is in no way a good enough replacement for Ghidorah. But I would love to see more Varan.

Varan is not a very popular monster, and his first movie did not do very well neither. He was lucky to get a cameo in DAM, and have a role in the original screenplay for GMK, and Godzilla vs. Gigan.

Both GTTHM, and MZ where fine as they where, I see no point on having Varan join the movie.

But since I've seen his movie... can't stand him anymore. Varan sucks.

Anyway, GTTHM and MZ are two of my favorite Showa films, and even when I was a Varan fan, I don't think it'd be justfied to throw him in either, though I have a fleeting feeling he was considered for GTTHM, since it arguably acts as a 'Destroy All Monsters' for the time period - Varan was the only real omission since Toho didn't own Kong, Meganulon was dead, and Maguma was in the future.

The films would have been worse for it. Ghidorah had the perfect balance of monster characters, and I was happy with the screen time all of them got. It also became a representation of what would become the company's biggest characters that decade.

The character might have worked in Invasion of Astro-Monster, but that film was more about the alien invasion than the monsters. It wouldn't have made any sense for him to be there and not in Ghidorah the Three-Headed Monster either... "Ghidorah was driven from Earth, but only by the combined strength of Godzilla and Rodan, can you help us? ...we also need Varan, as our calculations have determined that a creature that was killed by dynamite would do great in space... against King Ghidorah..."

I hear Mothra was plan to be in MZ, but was not able to due to the budget at the time. I think MZ was fine with two monsters only.

Yeah...glad Mothra didn't come back for a third film. She had her time in the spotlight in the previous two films (and also her own film, at that.)
