Sorry, $18 for GtB is too much for a single disc DVD with 1 documentary and a trailer. $35 for a direct copy of the R2 3 DVD / 1 CD is much better.

You'd also be getting ripped off since that bootleg couldn't have cost more than a few blank discs, a plastic case and a piece of paper. $35 for a copy of something is a ripoff.

I think $17,500 for 3 figures is a rip off.

Gamera the Brave is being sold by Target for $13, which is where I bought it (online).

Mine was $6 used on eBay.

And wataru, what's this thing about the figures you're talking about? Did Legion blow that much on some toys?

I saw it for $6 locally as well but that was back in 2008. I already had it bootlegged in 2006.

Yes, he did.

Legion, I'm sorry, but if that's true, you really have no place to talk. I understand the whole collector thing, but they're toys. They're a child's plaything. Eighteen grand for three figures. $6,000 a pop. I think that's a good deal more ridiculous than $35 for a multi-disc, well-made bootleg of a movie.

Yeah well, the figures are legitimate aren't they? Legion wanted something and paid for it the honest way as opposed to buying an illegal copy.

I would NEVER spend that kind of money on anything short of a car, which is another thing entirely, but Legion1979 can hardly be judged for buying something the good and honest way.

I remember Legion explained how he ended up spending that much on them. Honestly, if I had the hobby and the resources, I'd have done the same thing. I've stared at things longingly though out of your reach before, and have even spent some large amounts to obtain a few of them. You only live once.

If youre spending $17,500 on THREE TOYS - you have no right to tell ANYONE how to spend their money, IMO.

Guys, don't you DARE start this crap again. I'm honestly sick and tired of this horseshit about how much I've spent on toys.

Tohosaurus and Gawdziller, THANK YOU both for coming to my defense. I saw something I wanted - some really, really, really rare toys most people never even get a shot at - and I bought them. I don't see how that makes me unable to have an opinion about being ripped off by a bootlegger who is basically selling a DV-R copy of something for a high price and then laughing all the way at the bank at the profit he's made ILEGALLY from someone else's property.

Christ all mightly, let's leave Legion the skreeonk alone, please. He's a collector, and it's not like he spent that amount of $ on, oh, say, bootlegs.

We really need some news on MEGALON soon. It's amazing how incredibly sidetracked this topic is right now.

If you going to call someone out on spending money, make sure youve not spent an ungodly amount of something equally as foolish.

There's no news on Megs. MB doesnt answer questions on their Facebook. We could ask kpa but I bet they'll tell him "We're still working on approval with Toho..".

I'm not calling out someone for spending money. I'm saying it's ridiculous to spend $35 on what amounts to a few DV-Rs, a cheap plastic case and a xeroxed piece of paper. To give a bootlegger over $30 for something that probably cost him a few bucks to make - something he made by illegally ripping off someone else's property - is ridiculous. It's even more ridiculous to go out of your way to support it.

In other words, shut up.

You spent $17,500 on three pieces of plastic that probably cost a few bucks to make.

Has anyone heard or seen of new pressings of DAM on DVD or BRD?

Uh huh, because that makes total perfect sense. Because me spending a lot on incredibly rare (and that's an understatement), authentic pieces of Godzilla toy history that are so tough to find that they're coveted even Japan is the exact same thing as giving a bootlegger $35 to basically pop in a DVD-R and make you an illegal copy of something.

Now DROP IT.

Your raging hardon for bootlegs may be blinding you to reality, but if one item is genuine, legitimate product and the other is an illegal, illegitimate copy, then spending a large chunk of change on one is NOT "equally as foolish" as spending it on the other. This is not a difficult concept to grasp. If the DVD wasn't a f*cking bootleg , then you may have a point, but it is, so you don't.

wataru wrote:You spent $17,500 on three pieces of plastic that probably cost a few bucks to make.

But they are genuine, legitimate products, unlike the DVD. See above.

God, wataru, what is your problem? I'd really like to know .

I wonder if MEGALON is going to come with custom end titles like DAM. In fact, what do you guys think of the custom end titles for DAM?

Id like a Mercedes SLS
Image

Over 200,000 GBP but again, that's a import high end luxuary car.

And YOU dont tell me to drop it, Legion. When you want to start in on people, you need to be prepared for some come-backs. The authenticity of your purchase as part of your argument is negated by the sheer cost you spent on them. You compare a $35 bootleg of a film to 3 toys totalling $17,500.

Boils down to this - dont tell people how to spend their money when it's no where near the neighborhood of what you've spent on something equally frivolous.

Smog Monster - if you bothered to read and analyze Legion's "arguments', you'd see how blind HE really is.
