I seriously didn't think this was any better looking than the previous Titans. I really hate the use of rock in Fantasy films though.

I thought "Sweet Dreams" by Marilyn Manson worked quite nicely with this trailer, and the subject matter of the Titans return ,and possible victory. The Dark Times ahead if they win their war against the Olympian Gods. Can't help but go into a Goth mindset there my boy.

Anywho, liked the last one. Some excellent CGI I thought, and the Kraken, although hyped throughout the movie as the monster of monsters, bringing nothing but absolute destruction with its release. Ended up being a little disappointing when its quick defeat. I've never been a fan of the original Ray Harryhausin flick, which among fans seems to be held in a religious fervor whenever mentioned. Although the stopmotion is rather lacking in the flick. Looking like amatuer hour claymation like it was mentioned on I Love The 80's 3D.

Clash was a popcorn action flick. I'll watch it for that. If Wrath is the same, I'll watch it for that. My expectations aren't high, so I'll be fine.

Because it was a Bastartdization of a beloved classic from 1981. If they had just taken the myth of Perseus and just titled the film another name, most of the hate would not exist. Same with GODZILLA (1998), If from the beginning, the film name/creature was never known as Godzilla, it would be viewed as an outlandish, but generally fun monster film. Since this sequel is essentially something "new" it will probably not generate nearly a much negativity as the first film did. Funny how a simple name can generate so much emotional response.

Dude seriously?

COTT 81 was a slow moving film with some horrid acting. It's only jerked off over because of the stop-motion. COTT 10 has 3 elements in common with COTT 81 - Perseus, the Kraken and Medusa.

In 81, Perseus was a snooty holier-than-thou boring character. In 10 he was fleshed out a bit better. The love story worked better in 2010 and the motivation of the Gods was clearer.

2010 isnt Oscar winning but it's worlds better then 1981.

No, not at all.

I like the 1981 for the stop-motion and Burgess Meredith and Pegasus. But 2010 just has a better, more in depth story - human-wise and god-wise.

Maybe that's why I accepted it as a stupidly fun actioneer, because I don't give a rat's ass about the 80's film. Watched it several times and it does nothing for me. The remake is empty too, but it at least managed to hold my attention.

But then again, I don't mind the 1998 Godzilla either. I don't really give a crap about title in the first place. That just seems silly.

I don't care for the original either. If I had to watch one it would be the new one. However, I don't like either.

The saw 3D trailer for this film when I saw Ghost Rider: SOV last weekend and it does look cool. I never saw the first one after hearing a lot of bad things about it and I hear the fight scenes where rather dull as well. I don't think I will see this one since I doubt it will be better then the first film.

2 Different interpretations of an Ancient Greek Myth, one is not more valid than the other, and as always opinions of character will differ from person to person

I should have clarified a bit more in my original post, the feeling of bastardization comes more from others (hardcore fans of the original film), not so much myself. I liked the original growing up. I saw the new film once, and was indifferent (didn't love it, didn't hate it), but your point above proves mine. Because there was so little in common with the 1981 film, why give it the exact same title?

--In the near future, if a major studio with a blockbuster-budget, pitched a "Sindbad" movie with great casting & story were made, I think it would do great, just as long as it is NOT called "The 7th Voyage of Sindbad" because well... It's already been done. With Myths, there's really no need to use the exact same title twice.

If only they had. But, either way, I found it highly enjoyable, and actually consider it better than the '81 version. The old one was kinda dull. I don't know, that's just me.

Speaking of creatures, what monsters are gonna be in this anyway? I saw a cyclops in the trailer, and I'm assuming that the two headed monster is supposed to be the two headed dog from the original Clash of the Titans. I also think the big fire guy is Kronus.

But what are the rest of the guys supposed to be?

I believe the minotaur is in it as well. I didn't rememeber kronos being a lava monster, especially in the main greek mythology.
