Your Religous Views

Postby Drewzilla » Thu Sep 02, 2010 12:55 pm

I decided to do this thread after headline news that Hawking's has now changes his view on religion and god.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20100902/lf_ ... in_hawking

Honestly, I still believe there's more too it then "Spontaneus creation". I'm not Christian, I was but left that path a couple of years ago. I'm now a Gnostic with concepts from multiple faiths. On a whole, I believer there's something, don't know what, but there's something out there. I believe there's more to life then just atoms and cells, that there's something beyond physical involved. I struggle with Athiest beliefs for the fact that it's the concept of no matter what you do, good or evil, right or wrong, it all will mean nothing at all. I strugle with "Almighty God" beliefs because it's glorified dictatorship to me.

That's my belief, feel free to give yours. Just trie and be respectfull guys cause this is a touchy subject.

I don't believe in evolution because believing requires faith. I follow observations founded by evidence.

There is also no "Athiest belief". Atheism is the lack of a belief occurring from lack of evidence.

I believe in evolution, and I think there is already proof that is exist. I don't believe in the Christian God or the Bible. I have my own point of views on life in the universe, and God.

A little bit of both. Science has proven it's worth by curing diseases and what not but even scientist who don't believe in a higher power will say that it's amazing that things turned out just right to support life on our planet.

So I'm in between, if that makes any sense, yes I believe there is "something" out there but that's doesn't mean I'm going to ignore a T-storm warning on my TV because some people think science is the devil.

Our environment did not cater to our conception and survival. It's the opposite.

At times it's so hard to get through to some theists that a person doesn't need rules written on paper or the risk of eternal hell fire to have some simple morals.

Atheist. Not that I really have anything against any sort of religion. It's just it's hard for me to believe that someone in the skies is watching over us.

Christian, through and through. I truly believe that Christ is the Son of God, who died for our sins, and was raised to life by his Father, who is Lord of All. And I believe that, unlike what Spirit Ghidorah aid about "someone watching us from the skies", that He is with us to help us make our decisions, and cope with our pain and whatever else happens in life. Oh, and I believe that one day I will join Him in the New Heaven, where I shall live for eternity.

I would fall under Atheist. I do not believe in a God. I follow my own knowledge of what i perceive as wrong and right. I don't know what happens when you die and I won't pretend to know. Logic over faith is my golden rule.

Yeah. In fact, religion as a whole just seems to be a way of softening the reality that everyone dies at some point or another. Me, I really don't look that far ahead. Death's gonna come knocking eventually, so why worry about it? People should live for the moment more often, not worry about what could be decades into the future.

That being said, the belief of an afterlife can be very useful in seeing through to the next day for those of greater faith than me.

I have belief in a higher power but for the most part I don't believe in organized religion fundamentals. Basically I believe something created evolution and let what ever it does do it it's thing if that makes sense.

An interesting topic. It's always intriguing to see people's varying views when it comes to religion. I myself am a Christian. However, I don't go to church... and I'm not as pig-headed as so many Christian fundamentalists. I don't question what science has explained, I only feel that there is something beyond science. I feel that the likelihood of such a complex universe popping up out of nowhere is just hard to believe. Granted, I have no empirical evidence for the existence of God, as the whole point of religion is to have faith.
