Harryhausen was a genius, and all the movies that came afterward, there are a whole bunch movies that followed the mode that this one started.

Ghost Rider 2: I feel hat it's a good movie to watch once or twice because its entertaining. Nicholas Cage can be looney at times and I'm not a fan of the plot being centered around a kid, but i liked it nonetheless. Loved it when Cage tells the kid about how Ghost Rider pisses flames.

War Horse: This movie was better than GR2 in my opinion. It was interesting to see how horses were used by both sides in the battlefield during WWI. Some of the ordeals that the War Horse has to face are grueling, and I'm sure none of us would want to be forced to pull artillery pieces up steep hills for the Germans. The human characters have depth as well, and the relationship that the main character has with the horse is heart-warming. Overall, I can see why this movie got nominated for an Oscar for Movie of the Year.

Gonna try to watch The Grey soon.

I saw Ghost Rider Spirit of Vegeance as well.

I enjoyed Nicholas Cage, I enjoyed the Ghost Rider action and the CGI for Ghost Rider but it wasnt as good as the first film (CGI, character-wise and story-wise). Also, it's not canon to the first film.

See the GR2 thread.

Godzilla 1985 (1985)
Haven't watched this American cut in some time now and I only review movies once in this thread, but I guess this is the first time I watched it since posting in this thread. While the inclusion of Steve Martin scenes were a smart idea, the movie is moderately cut down from Return of Godzilla. Since G85 runs not even 85 minutes of movie before the credits roll, I don't see why they felt the need to do it. The better explanation and scene organization of the original really does make it a genuinely better movie. That aside, it's still nice to see Godzilla return to his dark, sinister yet innocent, allegoric roots. That and the topical, politically charged storyline make this one of the highlights of the Heisei series, even if it does pale in comparison to its Japanese form.

Attack on the Block, very funny movie. It's kinda like Shaun of the Dead, but with aliens.

Beneath Loch Ness- Slow and cheap, the acting was ugly and the effects were bad. A few background scenes were CGI, from the looks of it they couldn't afford to film a actual train passing by. And the ending was confusing, was the monster killed in the explosion? It doesn't show (unless I missed it when I didn't pay attention.)

30,000 Leagues Under the Sea (Asylum)- I've never read the original book or seen any adaptions of it, but this has to be the worst. You could easily see camera men hiding in the shadows and characters would speak without their lips moving. Plus sometimes you couldn't hear what they were saying at all. Boring plot, low characters.

Attack of the Giant Leeches (1959)- One of the few films I've seen before viewing it on MST3K. Other than the ridiculous leech costumes, I thought it was fairly decent and the best film I watched today.

Black Scorpion! That close up puppet managed to look fake and creepy at the same time. How one can manage that, I have no idea. The movie it's self was alright. Not the best I've seen, but certainly better than any of the Sci-Fi monster movies nowadays.

Piranha (1972)- No, this isn't the Roger Corman ones, or the 2010 version. This one came before any of those. I've seen pretty much every piranha monster movie there is, but then I saw this on Amazon.com as "Piranha, Piranha". I wasn't sure if I should get it or not but faith eventually brought it to me in a little cheap monster pack. There is about 3 seconds on Piranha in it which doesn't show up until the last 20 mins of the film. The plot it slow and goes no where until the last 20 mins. Basically, if you want to see this movie, skip to the end. The rest of the film is just a motorcycle race, scenes of people digging, animals being shot, and some pretty footage of the Amazon.

Boa vs Python- Standard Sci-Fi channel plot and effects, with boring characters and pointless nude scenes. This is the first time I've seen it all the way though, as I've seen clips of it before on tv. I was pretty much disappointed with it, but what else can you expect from these kinds of tv films.

I Bury the Living- Wasn't what I was expecting, which is good cause it was better than that. The plot was basic and dragged throughout the whole film, but it was still decent. It could of had a better, more horror-ish, ending though, like that guy in Paris could have died, leaving them to wonder if there really is something to that map on the wall.

How can you be disappointed with Boa vs Python?! IMHO its the best of the crossovers.

The two snakes got it on before they fought. But I suppose it was better than the quick boring fight in Dinocroc vs Supergator and the... was there even a fight in Mega Snake vs Gatoroid.

REALLY good IMHO, but REALLY REALLY short. It's just over an hour long! WTF!?

I can see how someone can be disappointed with this *ahem* 'crossover'. After all, I was expecting the Russian acid-spitting super-snake going up against it's Antarctic tail-clubbed ancestor.

What I got was an abnormally large Reticulated Python going up against an abnormally large Scarlet Boa. skreeonk A', that's a crossover in name only.

I watched Gladiator for the first time the other day. Man, that's a good movie. The ending was so sad yet so happy at the same time. I give it 4.5 dead gladiators out of 5.
