I finally managed to watch these; they were pretty enjoyable, particularly the second one.
I'm curious about where you filmed this. BTW, was that actually Don Frye?! :o

Yes. Yes it was.

Large portions of episode 2 as well as the upcoming MechaSorta story were filmed in Chicago/Rosemont during GFest. Everything else was filmed at various places around Georgia.

No, actually, it's just a kind of shot I've always enjoyed, Pulp Fiction or otherwise. You can take it as a Pulp Fiction reference though, I don't mind. XD

That is cool. 8-)

How did you get Frye to be in the video, anyway?

I probably won't then. I hate Tarantino.

Shame. Never actually seen Pulp Fiction all the way through but I consider Kill Bill one of my top 25 films of all time. Easily.

You know, I don't think it's really a stretch (or a spoiler) to say that the whole of MechaSorta is essentially going to be Lobsterdance Productions making love to Jun Fukuda.

So... Which of these people is you?

Even after watching your "various and sundry" videos, I haven't figured out which person is you.

I'm Sorta. The guy with the hat. XD

The first video was all me, so I've continued with the role ever since.

Haven't read much of it yet. It's in the film as a constant reminder to read it though, haha.

So we've been shooting the past several rounds of MechaSorta scenes in 1080i HD, while a good quarter or so of the film that was filmed previously (as far back as 2009! D8 ) was shot in standard definition. The switch was due to a friend's acquisition of a Panasonic AG-AF100, which, by filming in HD, gives us more leeway in creating special effects mattes and, because the camera has interchangeable lens functionality and a generously-sized image sensor, allows us to play a lot more with focus. The bad news is I have to spend several hours re-encoding all our previously-lensed 480p and 1080i footage to conform to a 720p standard that will make for easier editing and then I have to rebuild all the previously-edited scenes from the ground up. The good news is that this allows me to completely reorganize the (very disorganized) project and that MechaSorta will ultimately be released in HD, albeit only 720p, and only a small portion of that will be upscaled SD footage (which looks surprisingly good anyway!).

Woooo.
