Well, there isn't a discussion for this yet, so I thought I would start it.

Here is my review of the issue.

This issue was a real, real quick read. While I might enjoy Ciaramella's style more than Powell's, this particular issue was lacking IMO as for all the build up with the twins this sure was a very, very disappointing way to cap off their story.

SPOILERS from here out, so please stop reading if this is a concern:

I was happy, and a bit surprised, to see Battra stand toe-to-toe with Godzilla and actually end in a tie. However, Rodan ended up being a joke, and was dispatched by Godzilla with no trouble at all and never even landed a blow (shades of Final Wars). The twins, assuming they were killed when Battra was hit, felt like an after thought in the end. Also, Godzilla starting the issue knocked out... and ending the issue knocked out was kind of a lame resolution that made the entire issue feel unimportant.
If it bites... don't mess with it!

Yep, barring the Battra love it felt somewhat of a filler instead of a final fight.

Fight was kinda cool, nothing spectacular. Poor Rodan. He just always get the short end of the stick in this series, hm?

Anyone else find the mushroom cloud shot surprising and cool. I thought Godzilla would just be dropped into the nuclear power plants and recover right then and there, but turn the page and - MUSHROOM CLOUD.

My comments on the issue form IDW forums. I must say though it's the least commented on issue yet.

Honestly they really need to complete these plot lines. To abandon them is extremely lazy and disingenious to those that stuck with the book. Do they think we wouldn't notice.

Got a read through this issue. I say read through but there really wasn't all that much to read. In IDW's attempt to clear as much from the slate as possible before the relaunch one of the more interesting storylines in anotherwise dull run is rushed through without much grace. The twins were worth exploring. Would have been nice to see their back ground. Who they were. How they obtained there abilities and what made them into the evil little tikes they became. All this is brushed aside in a nonsense of a story that defies logic. They can survive an almost point blank Nuclear explosion but are killed (or so we are left to believe) by Godzillas radioactive breath.
From an artwork point of view I do think Santos is getting to grips with the creatures anatomy. I did like a few of his Godzilla Shots. Mostly those were Godzilla is firing its breath weapon. Still not a fan of his artwork but it has become more detailed and dynamic as the months have gone by. Still not the Artist for this book. IMHO.

I can't see issue 12 going out all guns blazing but I wait to be surprised.

Those twins got owned big time thinking they can get Godzilla to come to their side. Nice try ladies. No monster can beat Godzilla! Long live the King! Still waiting for the next issue now wonder what will happen. Still no Space G or Gigan, yet. :|

SpaceGodzilla was pretty much confirmed to throw a monkey wrench in humanity's soup next issue. Read the stomping grounds section, you'll see what I mean.

I sorta liked it. It didn't do everything right, but I have to say it was what we got during the Powell era at best. Still excited to see the finale next month! 3/5 for me.

While it was a fun enough read, I did have a couple issues with the, uh, issue:

- Gotta admit, after Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah vs. Super Mechagodzilla, Godzilla vs. Rodan and Battra seems a little anticlimactic. Also, I was surprised Ghidorah didn't wake up at all during the fight.

- I didn't like how there was a nuclear explosion and the only one affected by it was Godzilla. The Twins should have been outright vaporized (or at least had refrigerators to hide in...), while Battra and Rodan should been affected somehow, whether by being injured or maybe getting further mutated. Might've been a good time to introduce Fire Rodan or something, I dunno.

- I find it very hard to believe a Godzilla who hasn't fed in a while can utterly thrash both Mechagodzilla and King Ghidorah without much trouble, while a freshly recharged Godzilla can only score a tie against Battra. Also, if one nuclear explosion gave Godzilla his atomic breath, shouldn't a second give him his Spiral Ray? *shrugs*

- So, I guess Anguirus and Kumonga will be dealt with in Issue 12 and/or the sequel series, then? *shrugs again*

This issue...was underwhelming.
Anyway, with that being said:
POSITIVES:
-The shot of Godzilla being blasted by a nuke explosion (again)
-My letter was answered and published in the Letters section! Alright!
NEGATIVES:
-Underwhelming battle?
-Quick, unsatisfying way to finish off the Twins!
-Unanswered questions that will hopefully see answers.

I was certainly fair in critiquing the earlier issues of this series. In fact, my opinion did improve radically after going back and re-reading the early issues in one long batch. However, I was just plain disappointed in every aspect of KOM #11. It seemed to go nowhere, the story felt "small" and inconsequential. All the buildup of monsters like Battra led the reader to expect a significant conflict when they finally came together with the Big G, and yet they were dispatched in minutes. The monster action reminded me of nothing so much as Final Wars. The nuke blast was cool, but as TitanoGoji16 pointed out, it had none of the devastating qualities it should have. I didn't know that an atomic blast was something you could just watch from a mile away.

*Sigh* I've still got some hope for #12, you'd expect everyone to bring their A-game to the finale. Then again, if their A-game is decidedly B minus, how much can I hope for?

It was Like a glass of milk for me.
Not great, but very good.
Milks not always appropriate but when it has its moments, it really hits the spot.

I love the series despite (see any IDW related thread).
This glass of milk is more than half full ...for me.

The dead animals in KOM are a result of high powered signals sent from aliens,to awaken the dormant monsters. Animals with similar senses are overloaded from the signal &drop dead. That way much of the world will be destroyed in prep for the invasion.

I thought this issue was pretty good, I admit it was a short read, but the whole fight seen was pretty good (Though not quite as epic as the battles between Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla, Godzilla vs King Ghidorah, & Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla vs King Ghidorah). So hopefully if IDW does do a 2nd series, & does a few update & what not, we'll probably get some more epic fight scenes.

Oh my sig, its a speculation I came up with after issue five. I put it there cause I figured that I'd be proven right in the upcoming issues. So far no results. So I'm leaving up there until a reason is provided.

I think this was one of the better issues when it came to monster battles. Godzilla curb-stomping Rodan and Battra was pretty cool. There were some nice panel shots. The twins should have gone out in a better way, though.
