In a world with kaiju, there would be quite an arms race. Just imagine being asked to design some weapon that can take down a 200 foot tall dinosaur. It would be a challenge, but the JSDF has produced some good ideas. They may not have killed Godzilla, but they reminded Godzilla that humans can fight back.

An anti-kaiju weapons arms race woul be pretty cool to see. Like Japan makes Mechagodzilla and the U.S. makes MOGUERA.

Didn't that happen in a book? Japan made MG and Russia or the U.S made Moguera?

^ Slightly off-topic, but is that any good? I've been meaning to read it, but Amazon never has any cheap 'Like New' copies.

TG, what do you think I was referencing? ;) Too bad we never saw an arms race on film. :(

It is very good. I'd say Godzilla 2000 is the only one that's better.

You think so? I remember reading Robot Monsters and being really disappointed with it. I enjoyed At World's End a lot more.

Yeah, I figure Godzilla 2000, flawed though it may be in some ways, would be hard for Cerasini to top. I was bored by Godzilla Returns and At World's End, though, so glad to hear at least one vote for Robot Monsters being better than them.

I didn't really enjoy At Worlds End. It felt like you could remove Godzilla and still have the same story. He was just there.

Realistically, I see the US and Japan producing MechaGodzilla jointly. That entire "We are the Sword and the US is the Shield" deal.

MOGUERA would be produced by our not-so-friendlies and would be an anti-mech mecha. The violation of Article 9 and the US creating a WMD would upset a lot of nations.

Then don't get "Like New." Don't go lower than "Good," though.

^ Not usually an option for me, unfortunately. I collect books, and like to keep them in the best condition I possibly can. Books with creased, beat-up spines (which used books tend to have) don't usually make it onto my shelf, which is half the point of owning them. And being a Godzilla book, this one has extra signifigance and needs to be on display, so only the best copy I can afford will do. And anyway, the cheapest copy of any condition on Amazon right now is $39, so...yeah. Guess I'll keep waiting.

Godzilla seems to be lacking scenes of Children being mauled to death, tentacles assaulting men and women in a suggestive tone and sex scenes.....

^ No, the real thing Godzilla movies have been sorely lacking is Don Johnson. That is what keeps the series from attaining perfection, in my opinion.

^I agree with the lack of Don Johnson. I mean, come on! How many years has it been?? Also, CD's avatar makes me smile.
