I would like to know what happens with copies still in the stores. Will those get replaced?

What if I bought this without a case? Like off eBay or used from a used book/record shop? Am I boned?

(I didnt buy this, nor will I, but it's valid question in today's eBay age with used media)

Used media probably is not, but if I bought it used I wouldn't expect this anyways. Just my take.

If you bought it used they can't prove it. All they want to see is the cover. If you have that you should be ok. If you just have the disc then yes I would say your boned. I e-mailed about international customers so will report back on reply.

I watched it with the dub, so the subtitles weren't really major to me. They were kinda annoying on the special features, but I don't really care. I'll just stick with my current one, I'm sure I'll own other copies of it anyway.

Hm. Do they have any news on when the fixed copies will be in stores/online? Will there be a recall of defective copies?

I got it for Christmas, but didn't watch it yet. Just wondering, what was wrong with the subtitles in the first place?

This is very commendable of them, too bad they didn't get the rights for GvMegalon.

Though, since I only watched dubbed (unless the dub is particularly bad like Raids Again), I'll pass over this.

MB gave a link to one retailer online that had the fixed discs no word on if Amazon has the new stock yet or not.

Also for anyone who has the discs pre replacement what are some spots in Gamera 3 that have bad subtitling issues I'm probably going to be ordering the set in a few weeks and want to check so I know if I have to send in my stuff for a replacement.

I'm planning on sending in my cover tomorrow. I'm glad they're doing this. Also it;s worth noting, according to their Facebook page, if you have not yet bought the single release or trilogy set, if you buy it from http://www.cheapdvdpacks.com/ it will be the newer corrected version.

The Subtitles throughout G3 are either missed timed so they appear late or early or are completely missing. During the extras the Subs eventually drift so they don't match subject being spoken about.

I also just got a reply from Mill Creek about internationl buyer replacments.

"Good Morning,

Due to contractual restrictions, we are unable to offer this disc replacement to customers residing outside of the United States and Canada. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes you and thank you for your patronage.

Sincerely,

Lyle Goff

Mill Creek Entertainment
lgoff@millcreekent.com"

Not the answer I was hoping for but unsurprising none the less :(

^ At least the dubs aren't Hesei-Godzilla terrible. That counts for a little (not that it makes up for the sub issue).

True the Dub on G3 is of a very high standard. Still would have been nice to get a fixed copy.

^Yeah, I agree. Just trying to be positive. :huge:

You could always mail your copy to someone in the states, and have them get you a replacement. I'd be happy to do it for you. Of course, with postage on the rise, I don't know if it would be much cheaper than buying another copy.
