PopInPicsPresents wrote:If you can find IR's argument it's very convincing. That and some side conversations that have arisen in the community. Meltdown Godzilla's not as powerful due to his body melting down. The explosions caused by Godzilla's blue and regular Spiral Rays were larger then those used by Meltdown Godzilla's after his attack on Hong Kong and before he reached 1190. He only got stronger after 1190 degrees.

What now? So now explosion size gauges the power of beams?
They even stated in the movie it's self that Godzilla's heat ray had gotten stronger! It doesn't matter how big the explosions were, Toho clearly meant that beam to be more powerful than the standard blue. In fact, due to an overload of atomic energy in his body, I would think that his meltdown would in fact increase the power of his beam.

When he joined forces with Mothra they began ruthlessly beam spamming from the air, and since they're in an alliance here I believe they'd do the same thing. Plus I'm not very sure how Destoroyah would handle the Flash Dash..
Yes, explosions have tend to gauge the power of energy weapons
If you notice, in the Hong Kong scene Godzilla's ray has Spirals around it, which is why it was as destructive as it was. No such Spirals were seen until Godzilla reached 1190 degrees Celsius.

...The what?
an perform a Flash Dash by charging itself with energy and flying at mach 80

There are ridiculously powerful beams in other media that can destroy stuff without causing fancy explosions, just so you know. Just because it produces a low explosive yeild doesnt mean its weak.

Um.....I dont remember the beam not having spirals in certain scenes.
They started spamming beams because Godzilal was engulfed in the scale cloud. And Destroyah would take the dash just fine. Mothra would be in for a hurting afterward though. This is the same kaiju that Godzilla had to hurt severely with a beam before he could gain an advantage in a melee fight. Either of the moths will get man handled when they close in.... which they will do because both are fools.PopInPicsPresents wrote:When he joined forces with Mothra they began ruthlessly beam spamming from the air, and since they're in an alliance here I believe they'd do the same thing. No. Explosions gauge the power of explosive weapons, and that statement isn't even entirely true either. Meltdown Godzilla's ray was described as being stronger in the movie. On top of that, the beam was more than likely much hotter than the regular Heisei Godzilla's ray was. Also, I believe you are taking IR's analysis out of context.Yes, explosions have tend to gauge the power of energy weapons.
Honestly, you can probably chalk this up to funding. There is no way Toho was going to spend the money for the flames and explosions that they used for the later beam attacks. If you notice, in the Hong Kong scene Godzilla's ray has Spirals around it, which is why it was as destructive as it was. No such Spirals were seen until Godzilla reached 1190 degrees Celsius.

I re-watched the Godzilla scenes in the film and certain beams, from the HK and post 1190 all have Spirals added. The others don't.

I don't feel like looking it up, but I remember him saying that the beam at the worst was still equal to or slightly stronger than regular Heisei's beam.
