How do they not make sense? They look really just like a DS's shoulder buttons. Except they have 2 on each side.

Those are still numbered (or labeled) consistently
The ones here are labeled as if they were written left to right, in order

EX If they were ordered in the usual fashion, L1 and R1 wouldn't be differently shaped.

How this flew under the radar I don't know.

On the Wii Classic the the LZ and RZ buttons have the same shape
Where as the L and R are the bumpers

Also the fact SNK themselves haven't made a statement isn't very encouraging

Or why boot a console line, that has thrice failed.

In fact, not a lot about this makes sense. At the very least, I'm convinced that image is fake. If this thing does exist, I doubt it'll look like that.

Not saying it can't be fake, because it easily can be... but the buttons are in the correct spots and labeled correctly too.

Nevermind. I mis-understood what you meant. I thought you were pointing out that the buttons were on the wrong sides. Which I was pointing out that it was face down so they were correct.

But now I do see that you meant that the numbers should be switched around.
