Zilla in other Godzilla movies?

Lets say Toho decides to make more Godzilla movies. Would you like Zilla to appear in some of those movies? Not like in Final Wars though, but with actual plot significance. How would you make Zilla's role?

There's really not much else to do with him. Unless he gets another film to himself, better left off not appearing anytime soon.

They should however throw him in a future game.

I'd love to see Zilla given a real chance to shine. I like the monster, and I wish he'd been given a script (or another name) that didn't totally destroy his reputation.

If Toho used Zilla in the future, I wouldn't mind seeing him play a '70s Anguirus-style sidekick role to Godzilla himself. At the very least, I'd like Zilla to be presented in a heroic or sympathetic fashion (What can I say? I've had a soft spot for the iguana since the television show).

A sidekick role could work. I'd want something like Zilla is attacking New York at the same time that Godzilla is attacking Tokyo.

American: Godzilla is attacking us again!

Japan: What are you talking about?! The real Godzilla is attacking Tokyo!

American: wut?

Something like that. Then they try and make Godzilla fight Zilla. Silly, I know.

In a better solo film, Zilla's return might work. Putting him into a future film with Godzilla is a bad idea.

As long as the film and ad's make it clear that he's not the star but Godzilla is and that he and Godzilla are two totally different monsters and not the same thing, and that Godzilla is a total badass then MAYBE.

That they did. He got the death he needed, and now he should be buried and allowed to rest in peace. Bringing him back for GFW was more than enough; from here on out he should stay in the past, where bad ideas belong.

The weird thing is after he died in GFW he got a lot of respect, like we could finally accept him as being part of the Toho verse, for better or worse, love him or hate him.

Though personally I'm more open to having him be in a game then another Godzilla film and even then just barely.

Yeah, joking aside I think Zilla's earned his spot in the Toho stable. It's always fun to see a western monster join Godzilla's crew (and it's nothing new either, Kong and Frankenstein's Monster beat him to the punch by a few decades), but at the same time I doubt we'll see him again in a film. I'll echo the sentiment that it'd be hella cool to see him in a game though.

I wouldn't mind another showing for Zilla; over in the forum for speculation on the new Legendary Pictures Godzilla film I (half-jokingly) suggested it would be amusing to start the film in the middle of a Zilla rampage. The army is already at their wits end so they blast him with a nuke but (surprise!) Zilla just absorbs all the radiation and morphs into the Big G we all know and love and proceeds to really tear the holy hell out of things.

My suggestion was not taken well.

I don't personally mind Zilla, but the fact remains that he and his film were/are a nasty scar on the Godzilla franchise. GFW, as Living Corpse said, buried the hatchet. Bringing Zilla back would probably reopen that wound.

I'll echo the sentiment that it'd be hella cool to see him in a game though.

I have mixed feelings on that.

On one hand I don't want him in a game because it would just remind people of D&E's bullshit stun in 1998. On the other hand it would be nice not to hear the most annoying sound in the world. What's the most annoying sound in the world? Well, there's been a few times where I'm playing a Godzilla game and I've had a friend or family member ask to see all the monsters so I go to the monster select screen and there will be a long awkward silence before they ask "wherez teh americen Godzilla" to which I just respond with an eye roll and a heavy sigh.

I guess it would be cool to beat him up and make him my new punching bag, and it's be cool to not hear "where is the U.S. Godzilla" but at the same time I get the feeling it's just gonna be replaced with "why isn't he called Godzilla? Why is he just called Zilla and why isn't he the star? Why's the lame Japan Godzilla the star?".

Maybe in a game though. He could have a sonic roar like Anguirus, or a heat ray like Baragon (but green). That with speed and burrowing.

Since a majority of fans absolutely despise Zilla, I don't think Toho or LP (or whatever company starts making them) would actually take a risk like that.

I think the whole idea behind the Zilla and Godzilla fight in Final Wars was to prove on who was the real deal. I don't see Zilla/GINO ever coming back.

Hollywood, seeing the reception Zilla received, would be cautious about repeating that experience.
