That is Blu Ray, and that demo was actually kind of misleading. You can actually scratch a Blu Ray, and because the information is closer to the surface, they are more susceptible to those iffy scratches. For example, my Schindler's List DVD came with a large scratch, and I was uncertain if it would play, but it actually works. But the same scratch, because of the depth and size, would probably cause issues with a BD. But it would be harder to make such a scratch accidently. But if you are typically responsible with any sort of media discs (not leaving discs out like ash trays, not touching the bottom, etc.), like CDs, DVDs, and BDs, you really won't have to worry except for an occasional accident or the ones that come faulty.
