While I did enjoy a few of the stock tracks but the stock music only works in a few scenes while the rest of the time, it doesn't fit the tone of the film.

Well, they kind of had to keep the native music because... what do you replace it with? I'm not surprised about that.

Is King Kong vs Godzilla canon to Godzilla's showa series?

Glade to see I wasn't alone in thinking that what that guy was saying was really,Really, REALLY stupid.

Yes. It's a different Kong though so it's not canon with the 1933 KK.

Really? Cool. I thought since it was kinda a crossover that it wouldn't be.

Nah, it's not like MK vs DC where it's a "what if" story. It's canon just like AVP and FVJ.

Though I can see why you would think that, crossovers can be confusing sometimes because they don't always say it's canon or a what if.

Which reminds me! This is off topic but I watched War of the Gargantuas on Netflix and there was no mention of Frankenstein that I remember. So I thought for a second that that wasn't canon either. :P

It picks up where the previous Godzilla film left off, which itself picked up where the first Godzilla left off, so it's clearly canonical with its predecessors. Then again, Mothra vs. Godzilla doesn't bother to make direct reference to it, so I guess you could consider the point irrelevant. Of course, Mothra vs. Godzilla is also a crossover film, so what do we do with it?!

And GTTHM is one big crossover between Godzilla, Rodan, and Mothra as well as a premier for King Ghidorah.

Henry G. Saperstein took out all of the references to "Frankenstein" in the U.S. version, and instead replaced that word with "Gargantua".

The International dub (and the Japanese version, of course) does refer to them as "Frankenstein" though.
