I'm actually baffled that people are so eager to just settle on more beat-em-up, Atari style games and not something with a little more substance.

This "moar video gamez!!!" stuff saddens me. Godzilla is a franchise that deserves more than just video games featuring monsters beating on each other. Stars Wars, Harry Potter, Disney, Muppets...all these franchises get such cool assortments of games - trivia games, Scene Its, Monopoly skins, and of course video games - but when it comes to Godzilla the best we can do besides VS-style video games is an overpriced board game with comic-book style graphics and cheap little PVC figures?

That's sad.

I don't recall ever bringing up Atari-style beat-em-up games in my last post. In fact, you're the one who has vehemently insisted to me the next game would be an adaption of Legendary's film.

I doubt you'd ever get one. When it comes to Godzilla and video games there's a very simple-minded mentality to them where it's just monster vs monster. A sandbox type game would probably require some actual effort.

I'm not speaking for myself. I just know it's impossible to deliver on fan expectations for a Godzilla game, no matter how simple they insist their requests are, and I'd rather not get more games if all that's going to happen is a lot of pre-release hype and a steady stream of post-release bitching. I'm the kind of person who takes what they can get.

Failing that, I wish game creation was something you could do realistically do at home as a hobby. I don't care how long it took, I'd be happy to spend my free time learning to program and then cranking away at my own monster fighter. Unfortunately I'd need several life times and a tens of million of dollars for that.

I've taken a game programing class in college earlier this year. It's really hard. But I'm with you. If I had the time and know how I'd do this in my free time. One guy on here is making one for the main site in his free time.

So I was looking at this casino brochure my grandpa had and on the cover were upcoming slot machines. One of them was this Godzilla one. It only had a logo in Godzilla-looking font. So anybody know about this? Sorry if this has been done before. I know there are those Japanese arcade games coming out but this looks different.
