Eh. I bought mine in June 2010. Probably won't be getting a PS4 for a few years. I'll let Sony work the bugs out, improve the memory capabilities, etc., and then wait for the prices to drop, just like I did with my PS3.

It takes every five to seven years when a new console comes out, giving people time to catch up. People forget that the Wii and PS3 came out in 2006 and the 360 will be 7 years old later this year. I think it's time for a new console.

This is why I'm investing in a gaming PC. It's alot more cost-effective in the long run to upgrade a PC every 5 years rather than to spend a giant chunk of money when the next generation of consoles comes by,

Try every other year, PC gaming changes drastically every 12-24months.

As for the new consoles yeah I can see MS releasing something new but expect Kinect to be a huge part of it. Sony could still get away with waiting another year or two but its about time for a new system.

Although possibly, by the time PS4 is released, the PS3 could be 7 years old and some months. Or nearly 7 years old.
For Wii, let's face it, it needed an upgrade. Of course 360 as well, somewhat.

Anyway, I feel that it's time for a new console installment. But like any consumer or gamer with standards, the product better be impressive and worth it. The same goes for the fresh wave of games coming out for the new consoles.

Well since a HDD is pretty standard on any computer the only thing you need to worry about is a decent graphics card which depending on how well you want to play your games is going to set you back about $250-$600 every two years or so.

Sony has recently stated tha they don't plan to reveal the PS4 at this year's E3, they wish to do there tradtional 10 year life span for the PS3 before they do a whole new system. I think that's smart cause they're just now making prophet off the PS3 and there's still un-reached potential with where it can go.
