Maybe a mod should lock this topic.

Ask one of them and I'm sure they'll gladly do it.

I thought the music they played as GINO first comes ashore in New York was kind of reminiscent of the theme they played in the opening credits of Godzilla 1985. Still, the music conflicted with the action at some points, like being all E.T.-ish at the moment when the monster is killed by the military. Was that supposed to be a happy or sad moment? Or the scene where the worm guy goes on television and starts telling everybody about GINO's flesh eating babies. It worked well when the monster first comes up out of the ground and gets face to face with the worm guy though.

I think those moments you mentioned were supposed to highlight that though they were extremely dangerous, these were still magnificent, unique and truly amazing creatures. They weren't just monsters. Something like that.

I agree with this, to a point. Probably the biggest problem is GINO's personality.

That makes sense, and it would go a long way in explaining the music in Jurassic Park as well. Still, I prefer monstrous music when something monstrous or a character doing something monstrous is on screen. The inspirational fanfare just ends up being confusing. The correct balance of such music was struck in the original Star Wars films. It does kind of get blurry though when you have the protagonist interacting with the threat in certain scenes I guess.

Agreed, "Well, I'm go to this weird island and lay my eggs and f*ck everything up. If something kills my babies, I will spend 15 minutes or so chasing they're slow ass across the city, then I'll get stuck in cables on a bridge. There I will be shot at and killed."
Pretty much sums up the personality or the film. Comments?

You forgot the part where he does something Godzilla would never do: runs away from the military.

And lack of nuclear powered breath.

I find it funny how GINO is supposed to be a "remake" but GINO get's stuck in a bridge while the 1954 Godzilla PICKS UP BRIDGES AND THROWS THEM. Makes me laugh everytime I hear fanboys say GINO is stronger.

GINO has fans? Im guessing fanboyism lives in each and every one of us , even if it does suck.

I'm a fan of Zilla. I do like the design, to be honest.

Me to. That's why I love the animated series so much; I actually got to see Zilla develop some attitude and put up some legit fights.

I actually like the Animated version's opening theme, and usually associate that with the monster when I can come to grips with it not being Godzilla, but its own unique monster. Plus the head shape goes full reptilian, setting apart nicely from the original mammal faced Godzilla. Kind of like the KKvsG suit's head in profile.
