Aw, so pretty much the Mutant Faction. They each have their own agenda and are just teaming up for a short while cause they know they will be swamped by entire armies worth of monsters if they try to go it alone even if they are super monsters.

I wasn't quite thinking teaming up as such, more they all go it alone and aren't even affiliated with each other; this faction would simply be the storyline you'd play as one of them.

The other faction campaigns would involve differing objectives, but the Earth Rogues are basically the same in style of play, only they can choose to be good or bad, or who to go after, whereas Devastators are just bad and will go after everything; literally taking on everything that gets in their way, making their game a much more challenging and frantic situation!!!

Whereas the Cosmos Faction is trying to rally other Earth Rogues and the EDF against the Planet X'ers and the Devastators, so need to be very careful with city destruction to avoid turning the humans against them and try to recruit the other monsters, forming alliances along the way... it's pretty varied depending on the faction campaign you want to play...

I think this would be the best way of doing the game's storyline while at the same time offering a different experience every time you play!

Can someone come up with an idea that's NOT a free-roamer?

Well, as I've said above I've been partially inspired from things I've seen and partially came up with stuff myself; I'm pretty sure the Legacy mode was an original idea, but at the same time I wasn't the person who coined the phrase, and I'm also pretty sure other people on Kaijuphile were talking about this as a game idea even before me! Hell, from what I can remember it was the entire basis of their game ideas, whereas I only want it as a mode, so to speak. It's an excellent idea though...

What other ideas did you have?

Now that's what I'm talking about!! I've just checked, and I've got to say it was an enjoyable read and obviously we share a love of grappling and using the enviroment to cave in skulls!! Yeah, you too have the Legacy mode in there and described it very well!! As I said the idea came to me some time ago but someone else expressing a similar idea refered to it as Legacy mode on the Kaijuphile Forum and I liked how it sounded.

Y'know for both sides of this gaming style, why can't they do a pure Godzilla Beat 'em up with specials and even finishers, and a free roamer like my idea? It could be great, and to get TWO Big G games would be a treat...

I feel you there, dude; I feel ashamed sometimes to live in a world where the last time I actually spoke to a genuine Godzilla fan in person was two years ago when I was buying a set of mini figures from him. Just as ashamed as I feel when I think about what could be done with the licence...

Godzilla: Battle Legends remake

Postby Biogoji89 » Wed Jan 11, 2012 1:49 pm

Should there be another godzilla game like Godzilla: Battle Legends?(I know they made Kaijuu Daikessen but it wasn't as fun)I say yes because it had alot of kaiju in it and had 9 different Godzillas.

The game might have been a good game for the SNES, but on a modern day system? I'd rather have a game like one of the Pipeworks Godzilla games than a Street Fighter clone for one of these modern day systems like the PS3, XBOX 360, or Wii.

To be completely honest, I say no.

The only good thing Battle Legends had going for it was the new monsters and the cool battle animations. Everything else was pretty meh.

Also, I think topics like this should belong in the Toho Video Game Ideas thread ;)

I believe so, but what I meant by RTS was game play similar to AOE and Command and Conquer where you can build your own units and face off on different maps.

Beleive it or not, I actually had some idea, tho factoring in a "kaiju" faction would be kinda hard.

G-force/JSDF: Is able to produce the vehicles seen in showa, heisei or millenium. Uber units are the likes of Mechagodzilla, MOGUERA, Kiryu, Super X I/II/II. Another neat thing is that in order to make an uber unit like Kiryu or Mecha-King Ghidorah, you need to have defeated a Godzilla or Ghidorah and have your resource collectors recover it and then it gives you the option to produce it. However it costs alot and can only be used once.

Aliens (Take your pick): Saucers, land walkers and again uber units are Kaiju such as Moguera, Mechagodzilla, Titanosaurus, Megalon, Orga, King Ghidorah etc.

Spacegodzilla could be his own faction. His vehicles/ aircraft could be made of Crystal such as the crystal towers from G:U as base turrets. Spacegodzilla is also his own uber unit and can go out and attack other units on the battlefield.

a Kaiju faction is kinda hard though =\ I guess you can have Godzilla, Anguirus or Mothra as a leader unit and have someone like Kamakuras as a resource collector. Resources for the Kaiju would be things like reactors and radioactive materiels. Giant Condor-like creatures can be the air units I guess.

Just some ideas.
