He should be back in a musical song and dancer number with the "Oxygen Destroyer Dancers"!

He should make a cameo as a pirate @ a fair.

There's CLEARLY a story here! I'll start the first part of it and everyone else picks up where the last person leaves off! This thread has run its course so let's have some fun at the end for a change.

EXT.COUNTY FAIR-DAY
Dr. Serizawa (mid 30s) is in his booth with a HUGE picture of Godzilla looming in the back. His right eye is covered by a black eye patch. A parrot grasps his shoulder, trying to maintain its balance as it squawks noisily. A crowd has gathered. Kenny, (11, black hair and pudgy) is clearly oblivious to Dr. Serizawa's exuberant posturing.

Dr. Serizawa
(points angrily at the picture)
ARR! That be Godzilla! He stole me wife and took my eye!

Kenny
(while eating his ice cream)
How?

Dr. Serizawa
(waves his arms frantically)
ARR! Drove a convertible he did! Snatched her away from me!

Kenny
(still eating his ice cream)
How'd he take your eye?

Dr. Serizawa leans in close to Kenny's face. His eyes narrow and he grimaces. Kenny is still VERY interested in his ice cream

Dr. Serizawa
ARR! I was going to eat my pop-top can of peaches and he distracted me. The lid hit me in the right eye!

Kenny stops eating his ice cream and looks up at him

Kenny
That's it?

Dr. Serizawa
ARR! That be me tale!

Kenny
So your wife left a guy who loses his eye to a can of peaches with a pop top for a lizard with a convertible?

Depends on the story. Its silly to force him into a story where he won't fit. It would be nice to see a call-out though, like a 'Serizawa Industries' being flattened by Godzilla, or some soldier wth his name on the tag.

I dont htink so, I think they should reboot Godzilla, but yet still stay true to its roots with some minor things changed.

This is pretty dumb. Why would you have one of the most recognizable characters of the franchise make a second appearance almost sixty years after he died? That makes no sense whatsoever, unless it was a son or brother. Now, I could deal with Akihiko Hirata making a cameo, but he, of course, died almost thirty years ago.

Well maybe a tribute to him but not the actual character because keep in mind that this is an American reboot

If it's a picture of him in a history book or a class in school is learning about how he killed Godzilla 60+ years ago or a company was named after him in his honor sure.

But please don't cheapen his death by making him somehow alive 60 years after being disintegrated by the OD.

They could just have a new Serizawa if the movie's not connected to the original.

Yes, because this film is really going to reference a human character that a large percentage of the audience is totally ignorant of.

I don't see the problem. Nothing too big, just a name on a nametag or a brief background cameo- noone will notice, it will please the fans, minimal effort needed...no harm done

There have been numerous characters like Serizawa since 1954. I think it would be more interesting if Legendaryzilla had somebody like the reporter who likes eggs. Fans would get it, and casual viewers really wouldn't be confused.

Yes. Look at the brief shot of Icarus in Rise of the Planet of the Apes, or the various re-used lines from the original (obviously put in a different context). They made me smile, and didn't cause any issues for the uninitiated.

:( Hell, if Pinky and the Brain can include near-perfect caricatures of Takeshi Shimura and Akihiko Hirata in their Tokyo Grows episode, I see no reason why the LP film couldn't give us a little homage.

I've said this a lot but if this turns out as good as Rise of the Planet of the Apes I'd be so, SO happy. And nods to the original movies would be the icing on the cake.
