DISCUSS IT!

ELECTION 2012!

So the Iowa Caucus is in the books and it appears Mitt squeaked by Rick Insanity-torum by .1%. Im not a Repube so I dont care.

Im a card carrying Democrat. Have been since 2008. Im voting for Obama again. In 2016 I hope Hillary runs.

In the Ultimate Universe, Doom made the bankrupt country the 9th richest in the world. So, I presume pretty good.

Anyway...In all reality, I may not vote. It is my first opportunity to vote (I was still 17 in 2008), but I don't see anything good. Obama is the best we have and we can't do anything until the parties get the hell over themselves.

I'm progressive, so I'd register democrat (or independent), but I'd vote for Obama if I had to.

I'm progressive, so there are no good options. Just a bunch of conservatives of different varieties. And that includes Obama.

On paper, I should be voting for Obama. He's way more conservative than I am, but his stated positions are in the right direction. The problem is he rarely follows through or goes far enough on those promises, and then he does things like meddling in Libya, mass murder with drone strikes abroad, and legalizing indefinite detention of American citizens by the military, so I really feel like we have no good options.

edit: I like Ron Paul as an anti-war, pro-civil liberty candidate, but he's so nutty on economics and a few other issues, so between him and Obama, I'd be hard-pressed to make a decision, being that the death toll of our wars would weigh heavily on my conscience. But I probably won't have to make that call. It'll be Obama vs Romney, and we've known it from the beginning.
Now it's dark...

I feel as though Obama was pressured to take those actions. You can say a lot of things on your way to the office, butr when you get there, you learn that you can't do a lot of things because you see the full scope of things.

You have to deal with that and the fact that there are pressures that we can't imagine. Other parties (we see how the Republicans whine more than TKers) or the Military Industrial Complex or who knows what.

I'd hate to be president.

I'm not voting at all. I don't exactly think highly of politicians in the first place, but seeing how they don't get jack shit done because they bicker every skreeonk minute of the day and refuse to compromise adds to my feeling of hopelessness in the political sphere of the US.

I'm voting for Obama, but he better grow a pair if he gets re-elected.

Man, I feel sorry for you guys down there. With only two parties, it must be really hard to choose.

Oopsies. I see a typo. It should read: "The two parties do mostly the same thing, too." Singular thing. Spend.

It sucks because American politics are so watered down. Most people vote for a party rather than a candidate.

After him signing the new NDAA, I can't see how anyone would want to vote for him. He expressed disagreement with the act, but he should have vetoed it, even if the senate would have overturned his veto.

I can already summarize this with one simple phrase: "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!"

This is gonna suck no matter what way you slice it.
Today, at the edge of our hope...

At the end of our time, we have chosen to believe in each other.

Today we face the monsters that are at our door.

TODAY WE ARE CANCELLING THE APOCALYPSE!
