As I made mention before, I'd like to see other series aside from Godzilla.

I mean, they won't be as popular (who here can actually say they remembered that Ikusagami is getting a figure?), but I want to see more than just Godzilla.

I'd love a Kumoga, whether it's Showa or Millenium( what's the difference? ), even tho' the GFW one got the 'cartoony' treatment - a veritable low point in the movie. I was like, "What is this, Dragon Ball?"

I wish there was an all of the above option!

On one hand, a Destoroyah, and possibly even a Biollente, would be a dream come true to me. Then I would have my three favourites, along with Godzilla. On the other hand, Showa has a HUGE selection of monsters at their disposal, and Millennium has my favourite insect, Megaguirus, as well as Kiryu, the GMK Baragon, FW Gigan to go with Revlotech's Showa one. Hell, I know most people here don't like Monster X, but he would be perfect for a super articulated figure. And imagine a Zilla! That would be pretty sick as well. I really can't make up my mind between the thee era's. I guess I'll be happy either way, as long as they get a Destoroyah off the shelf.

And I know that this is wishful thinking, but who else thinks a Grand Ghidorah would be EPIC?

I don't really care whether S.H. MonsterArts does Showa or Millennium, as long as they do one or the other. The current figures look great, but I generally don't prefer the Heisei forms of the monsters, and as mentioned here & elsewhere, the Bato-Goji design restricts articulation.

Eh, most of Godzilla's articulation problems stem from the fact its spines interlock making turning the body impossible,, and the jagged texture of the sculpt as well as the way try to conceal the joints of the SH Monsterarts (unlike the Revoltechs), and this would apply to every Godzilla. GMK Goji in particular would fare no better. I only see Showa Godzilla really shining articulation-wise (if they ever do one I would love to see them do Mosu-Goji or the '68 one, whatever its called).

Although I don't understand why Bandai went with Moge-Goji instead of Bio-Goji, the latter is superior in nearly every way design wise.

Not entirely... Well, yeah, the sculpt hinders the movement, but I think that was just first figure problems. Yeah, I know Tamashii/bandai has worked with other figures, but not Godzilla. The two main issues are the thighs and waist. The thighs' main problem is that the lower back's sculpt comes to a point and prevents the leg from going back further, and, for whatever reason, he can't move his leg that far forward or out to the side. Why it can't, I don't know, but I'm 100% positive that is on a case-by-case basis, because I swear to God I've seen a picture of Godzilla sitting with the caption saying something along the lines of "Why will no one buy me?"

The waist, on the other hand, I feel they hindered the joint on purpose to prevent people from damaging the spines. If you looked really, REALLY close, you'll notice that the spines BARELY touch. If you move him slightly forward, you'll get a little bit more wiggle room when you move him left or right, but not much.

Yeah, I agree that the articulation is limited, but I don't think it forecasts the rest of the line. If they did another Godzilla, I'd be comfortable placing a money bet it would be better than G94.

So, essentially you agree with me- the articulation problems are not becuase its '94 Goji, but early design problems.

Yes, I just don't agree that all of the Godzilla figures would have as limited articulation as 94 does.

after seeing war of the gargantuas for the first time finally, i would love to see a sanda and gaira as well as frankenstein to go with baragon. i would love a kong and mechanikong as well. i would even like a gabara and kamakuras. i'm hoping for showa first and then millennium. final wars was a fun movie. i loved it and would love to see figures from it. i thought it was a perfect tribute to the showa era. i love every godzilla movie though! :) :g2k:

Meh. As economically sound going with Showa would be, we already alot of Showa super articulated figures, with many of the Showa 'greats' (Mothra, Baragon, Anguirus, Gigan, Rodan, Mechagodzilla.....) already having their own. I would prefer an Orga, Megaguirus or an Irys.

Unfortunately, Orga and Megagiras sold terribly as 6" vinyl toys. I don't think Bandai is going to be doing those in a more expensive line like this.

Oh, I know that. I also know going with Showa would be the most economically sound route. But I just want a Megaguirus/Orga super articulated, even if it will never happen.

From what I was told, yes. Apparently you couldn't get rid of those things in Japan.

Yes. I think the blister card set with Megagiras and Godzilla didn't sell all that well either.

While I hope they finish the Heisei series, I really hope they'll dip into the Showa era to give us a Rodan as well as Anguirus and some other monsters that were only represented in that period.

I just got my Monsterarts Godzilla in the mail and am waiting on the Mechagodzilla and a Revoltech Anguirus. I'm trying to not buy any other Revoltech's in case they end up making them in Monsterarts, but it's pretty tempting.

of course they could finish the millennium series quicker , then move on to showa. we have:

orga
megaguirus
kiryu
baragon
mothra
king ghidorah
g 2000
gmk g
final wars g
monster x
kaiser king ghidorah

but then we have final wars versions of
gigan
kumonga
kamakuras
rodan
mothra
anguiras
king ceasar
hedorah
ebirah
the gotengo
and of course zilla

so i guess there is quite a few if you include all the final wars updated versions of showa characters. either way, i'll be happy.

My responses in bold:
dustman wrote:of course they could finish the millennium series quicker , then move on to showa. we have:

orga -Like Legion said, he apparently didn't sell well in Japan. We probably won't see him. Yet...
megaguirus - See above
kiryu -With the Chogokin one already released, I doubt we'll see him. But you never know...
baragon - See above but replace "Chogokin" with "Revoltech"
mothra - Possibly.
king ghidorah - Again, possibly
g 2000 - Very high possibility. The suit is popular.
gmk g - Medium chance. If G2K gets released, I don't think this guy's got a chance.
final wars g -See above
monster x -He's not that popular. I doubt it.
kaiser king ghidorah If GMK Ghidorah is released, this guy probably won't be.

but then we have final wars versions of
gigan -See Kiryu
kumonga -HIGHLY doubted.
kamakuras - See above
rodan The Revoltech one's already released. I kinda doubt it.
mothra If the GMK one is released, there's really no point to this one.
anguiras See Rodan.
king ceasar High possibility.
hedorah Kinda doubted since he wasn't prominently featured in the film.
ebirah See Kamacuras
the gotengo Diecast one's already released. Definite no.
and of course zilla Definite no again.
