A movie about an alien meteor that posesses a bulldozer.
Or it's a poster for a concert for the band 'Killdozer', but I wouldn't know.

Here is a funky Rodan redesign I found.

^that's a pretty badass take on the death of the Rodans from the 1956 film

That Rodan one is INCREDIBLE.

The Rodan design itself is fantastic but the art is abit wonky. Is it even possible for Rodan's legs to be arranged in that manner?

Well, now, this is aninteresting redesign. I'm not sure I like the bulkiness but I love the texture! Here's deviantart site of the guy who did it...

I believe that was already posted... I'm not a huge fan of the design either. The same guy did another redesign and it's more based on the Heisei era Godzilla, which looks a lot better.

Yeah, his next attempt looked a lot better. But honestly that above design would probably look five times better if it just wasn't so bulky and with such stubby arms. Those are my only two real complaints.

He did this one next, and I love his Mothra redesign. She's less "beautiful" and majestic but nonetheless looks great IMO.

They are awesome. I'm not a big fan of his Megalon and Gigan designs but they're very well layed out, and to be honest I actually really love his Anguirus!!

His Megalon and Gigan resemble Legion more than their name sakes! Jesus, there's redesigning, and then there is reinventing. They would make good original monsters, but as redesigns, Zilla looks like a near copy compared to them!

I like his Baragon and Anguirus though, although I would personally give them teeth and give Baragon bigger ears.

Reinventions can be much more interesting than their original source.

Y'know I really like some of the designs originally conceived for Godzilla Final Wars; some of the concepts for Godzilla himself are pretty cool actually...

If you have read the comments on his picture, you would have seen my name.

So yes, I have. And I do enjoy Megalon. Gigan is so-so with me.

Megalon needs a reinvention, I think. He's betwixt sucking as a monster in terms of design and execution and being nostalgically awesome.

That said, I do enjoy LDN's redesigns and I find that they often do the monsters justice.

When I was younger and trying to plot a continuation of the Heisei series I redesigned Megalon as a being created by rivals of the Shobijin and acting as a true rival to Mothra; his shell casings generate thunderstorms and he fires lightning- he's a Thunder Shock Beetle of sorts... it's actually still a good design , so I should dig it out...

Fair enough. We all have our own preferences. I usually like my redesigned kaiju to look at least somewhat like the original, so you can see what I'm getting at.

I enjoy a broad range of redesigns. I realized that, for the most part, that there aren't "true" designs for monsters. There are certain elements that go into a Godzilla design. How you work with those elements is what decides whether its a good design.
