If it's used to good effect, yes. A large problem with its use in the later films, is how the orchestration noticeable differs from the remainder of the score.
GMK in particular, suffers from this. Though I like the part in
Godzilla Final Wars, where the vintage theme starts playing over the Tohoscope logo. It's almost like you're about to watch a different film. Then everything goes to hell.
The best place to put it in a future film (be it Toho's or Legendary's) would be when Godzilla does something that defines his character.

Not really, considering Williams scored the prequels himself. Fans mostly agree his music is the best aspect of that trilogy.
