My favorite heisie monster is by far Destoroyah. It's his shapshifting abilities that gets my vote, as well as his connections to the oxygen destroyer. Biollante is a close second.

My favorite movie is GvD, for one, simple reason. Destoroyah's in it. :D
Like the monsters, close second is GvB.

Heisei Gamera and Gamera 3.

I'm just a big Gamera fan, but I still love Godzilla.

It's kind of weird that our favorite monsters are in the same movie they appeared in.EXAMPLE:Gamera Heisei = Gamera 3 Godzilla 1989 = Godzilla vs Biollante. :godzilla:

Monster: Destoroyah
Movie: Godzilla vs. Destoroyah

The actual monster has a pretty awesome design. He and Gigan are like the mass murderers of the Godzilla world.

The movie, that just defines a G film in my opinion. That and MG II are the best in the Heisei series in my opinion.

"Mass murderer"? Gigan has never successfully destroyed anything except Mothra in FINAL WARS...and got completely owned in the process.

^I mean in character. They both seem to really enjoy destroying their opponent.

For this question, I am only referring to original creations, not showa characters revamped/brought back to this series (King Ghidorah, Mothra, Rodan, MechaGodzilla, Mogera etc).

I would have to say my favorites are Biollante and Battra. The whole "a monster created with DNA manipulation" has become cliche' today, but it was very original/innovative idea back in '89. I didn't really care for this kaiju at all when I first saw this film way back then, but over the years I've warmed up quite a bit to both the film and the monster itself. Definitely the best original creation of the Heisei series.

Battra is second because I *love* the idea of an "evil" Mothra. Battra's design was particularly evil looking, and the caterpillar stage in particular was rather impressive. However, Battra loses *MAJOR* points for the recycled Rodan roar...with the sound technology of the 90s versus the sound technology for the showa era of the 50s-70s, how in the hell could they not come up with a new, original cry for Battra? :?:  Totally inexecusable.

As for the rest....Godzillasaurus was ok, Baby Godzilla was ok as well, Little Godzilla was worse than Minilla, and G Junior was pretty cool. I really want to like SpaceGodzilla, I really do, as I think the concept has loads of potential, but its execution on screen (not to mention the film itself) was very subpar.. Same goes for Destroyer...I *LOVED* the various stages of Destroyer (especially the flying stage....real shame it was so under-utilized :sigh: ), but the final stage ended up being just another fat, immobile bipedal foe like Space Godzilla.

Except, again, Gigan has never successfully done that. Destoroyah and Hedorah would probably fit that bill, but not Gigan. He's generally regarded as a cool looking monster who's missing his pair of brass balls.

I think the word your looking is malicious or relentless; something along those lines.

My favorite movie out of the series would be Godzilla and Mothra: The Battle For Earth and my favorite monster would be Biollante.
