These, to put it simply, are fantastic designs. Do you know if there any more announcements for further releases?

Where do you find these ornaments? I'd love to pick up the new one. I have one that has Godzilla in front of a stone tablet with several monsters carved in it and on the back is his footprint with a button that when you press it, you hear Godzilla's roar.
I was mentioned in the SciFi Japan article about the appearence of extras on the Godzilla vs. Megalon DVD.

Really?! I was never able to find that footprint ornament and assumed that it was never released. I believe it was in 2006.

To answer the questions, these ornaments can be found at Meijer (each are only sold for one year though unless you buy them online through specialty shops or Ebay, so right now you can only find the one with the lighthouse). Kohl's used to carry them, but for some reason this year my local store doesn't have them (yet). At Meijer (at least my local store) they are sold near the stationary (cards) section, NOT in the Christmas decorations section. Also, if you have any nearby stores that specialize in American Greetings or Carlton Cards, you can usually find them there as well. But since kaijukurt is not in the USA, you may have to search online. Also, as far as I know, these are rather successful ornaments that sell well, so American Greetings will probably continue to produce them as long as they sell. Hope that helps.

I actually found it at K-Mart of all places. I take it they sell American Greetings but I don't know anywhere else nearby that does. Do you know of any stores that usually sell American Greetings? If you don't know, no big deal.

I wish they had the balls to do an ornament featuring Godzilla alongside another monster, the Mechagodzilla head aside.

I'd go with a Rodan tree topper. Although none of these ornaments go on my tree. I cut the strings off and set them on my stereo. I couldn't find an image of that one Godzilla ornament I thought wasn't produced, so I took a photo of it from a G-Fan magazine. It's my least favorite, but I still wish I had it. Nonetheless, I posted it above in 2006 with all the other ornaments.

I went to my local Meijer last night and they still had at least one of the 2011 ornaments still available, so if anyone would be interested in having me pick it up for them, I would do that as long as the full cost + shipping was covered. Let me know if anyone is interested. I like to support buying G-goods locally so they will keep getting them in around here.

That's the one! And, yes, it roars. I hang it on my small tree in my room. I also gave one to some neighbor kids that were starting to get into Godzilla. Their parents loved me because they loved to make it roar.

My local American Greetings store always has them by the end of November. I have the one with the 90s Godzilla popping out and the spring buildings. They actually had an extra stock of them last year that they were selling but I already had one. I looked to find some extras of the old 1954 one as I wanted that one when it was announced but to no avail.

Good thread.
Are there any Godzilla stockings out there? Anyone know?

This year I customized a Bandai Creation 12" G with some holiday snowflake lights from Target.
What does everyone think?
I think it's a good use of the American Godzilla figure. All I need is to put a Santa hat on him.

Thanks for the positive feedback :-)

Here's the step by step:

You'll have to remove this top layer of vinyl, with a little effort it will easy come unglued when you pull, as there is another smooth layer of vinyl below that will need to be removed to run the lights.
I then drilled holes into the spike layer to allow the lights to be connected.

I cut a slit down the middle tail part to get the tail back on, then drilled a hole at the end of the slit allowing the cord to exit and be plugged in. Afterwards you glue the cut in the tail together for a tighter fit.

The back spike plate will need to be glued back into place otherwise it remains lose. It was difficult to put back on with the length of wires I needed to cram into it. Be sure to use a lot of fast ties to make the best use of space when putting the wires inside Godzilla's body.
