Cool story bro.

No offense, but are you even old enough to remember the N64? I mean hell, I was 12 when it was released, so..yeah.

Anyways..nostalgia can be a powerful thing, and make us look at things with rose colored glasses. GODZILLA 2000 may be better than MEGALON "critically", but they both bad movies.

It was release in 1996, I was 1. How do I remember it, in fact, I got into a convo with the guy at Blockbuster about this the other day.

My dad bought it for my mom when it came out. (they were still married) I first gripped that controller when I was 2. When I was 3, I played original NES and Super Nintendo.
My mom officially gave me the N64 when I turned 5. I grew up playing Super Mario 64 and Star Wars Rouge Squadron. 8-)
I still play the original GoldenEye.

Yeah. I always loved Yoshi's Island. But when we moved, we lived in a hotel for 5 months, and it got stolen while stayin there.
Oh and I love all the Mario Kart's but they are shit compared to the original and Mario Kart 64.

Back to our regularly scheduled programming;

I enjoy Godzilla 2000 for capturing the spirit and structure of a traditional Godzilla film. A scientist/Reporter duo seeking knowledge and the truth about a bizarre scientific breakthrough and trying to better mankind. This initially, combined with the numerous other problems the film has (some dodgy special effects, an utterly forgettable musical score and a sort of underwhelming antagonist), made this film seem pretty bland. But in the wake of the cookie cutter toy commercial films like GxM, the Kiryu films and Final Wars, which rely to much on the monsters and cameo "walk in and say hi" appearances from classic actors, I find Godzilla 2000 to be kind of refreshing. I really enjoy the characters in this film and seeing a single Dad doofus chase Godzilla on a motorcycle is far more interesting then seeing (yet again) a stoic military type with a blood feud zoom around in a super plane.

I love the final fight with Orga. To this day, it is one of the few Godzilla fights I still go like a (yes stereotype) black person.

"oh, oh, dang, damn, right hook. OH! look out, look out! OH SHIT, you just goin to take that, get yo ass up, OHOHOH!!!, He got your regenorater G1, oh shit, you just got bitched slap. DAMN!

Yeah, I am random. Don't judge me. :P

I take Megalon over G2k. Megalon was meant to be a silly film and is much more fun to watch. Even though I haven't seen G2k in years, I doubt it holds very well.

^ Oh me too. By a very, very wide margin. MEGALON is fun. G2K has put me to sleep on more than one occasion.

I am sorry, but I gotta say this. I mean no offense but...
The only way I was able to finish Godzilla vs Megalon, was because of the MST3k episode.
First time I watched it, couldn't finish it.
Found out about the MST3k episode, was able to finish it.

None taken dude. I've heard that it's very hard for some people to get through, especially if they didn't grow up watching it. Thing is, I've never actually met anyone that doesn't enjoy it in some capacity (which probably has more to do with my age than anything).

I'll just come out and say I do enjoy this movie as well as GxM.

But in no way do I see them as masterpieces, they are flawed but I'm able to look past that and enjoy them for what fun there worth. Pretty much there a guilty pleasure for me right there with Godzilla vs Spacegodzilla.

I would had enjoyed it more if Godzilla had more screen time and a more animalistic mannerism like in the Honda movies.

Watch the Honda movies, then. But hey, Godzilla in Gojira doesn't act like an animal, he's the A bomb itself.
Every film should have at least one animal attack.

I didn't know A-bombs were curious about clock towers...

Question: what was the big deal about those CD's that Miyasaka took away from Shinoda?
