Your Music Stories

Post your stories involving music..

Like how you moshed.
Like how you went to a kick-ass concert.
Or snorted coke backstage.
Or ate a Tic-Tac out of Ozzy's ass.

Can be wild, or just some lists of concerts you attented.

Mine.
1.) I dated Corey Taylor's from Slipknot's half sister for 2 weeks.
It's true. Mel aka "Blue" was a chubby girl who ran in the same circles as I did for a short while. She came over one night and wouldnt make out with me until I asked her out. I asked her out and BOOM! ...we actually never went on a date. We hung out, made out and pretty much acted stupid. Sadly no sex :( She would walk around in a cami and panties and never put out...

2.) I saw Days of the New in 2009 and they SUUUUUCKED
I had free tickets to go see Days fo the New with my ex at Club Firestone in Downtown Orlando at 8p. Well they didnt go on at 8p. We had to sit through FOUR SHITTY opening bands and Days of the New FINALLY came on, set the stage on the fire (faulty equipment) and the lead lost his voice so they didnt sing. On top of those, Firestone has no seats, and beer is $4.50 a bottle. Everyone spits and throws their butts on the floor so youre sitting in it all night. It totally sucked balls. Got up and left 2 songs in..

3.) I saw Smash Mouth at Mardi Gras! Universal Studios in 2004 and they SUCKKKKKKED!
When I was 24 I took my 43 year old girlfriend and her 12 year old daughter to Mardi Gras with Smash Mouth. Again, no where to sit and people throwing beads. I took a string in the eye. Beer was $7 a bottle and Smash Mouth was HORRIBLE. Everything was radio play already old shit by then. We left 3 songs in... the 12 year old fell asleep on the way home and the girlfriend had to drive because I was drunk on $7 Heinekens.

Ooooh I like this thread!

1) Was spending the day in NYC with my friends before a Korn concert that evening. We were in Times Square and passed by the (now long gone) Virgin Megastore. They had posters on the doors advertising that Rob Zombie was releasing "Educated Horses" that day and was set to appear for an in-store autograph session in less than an hour. All you had to do was buy the album, so we did because we had plenty of time to kill. We were last in line, and waited for maybe 2 hours before we finally got to the front. To our surprise and delight he was extremely friendly; you would have never known that he'd been doing something as monotonous as signing your name for several hours. He even got up and shook hands with each of us and thanked us for coming. This was my first close encounter with a famous musician whom I actually know and like, and to this day he remains the nicest celebrity I've met (well, beyond the guests at G-Fest).

2. I went to Rock the Bells at Randall's Island, NY in 2007 to see Rage Against the Machine's first gig on the East Coast since reuniting. I spent the entire day slowly making my way as close as possible to the stage, seeing Public Enemy, Cypress Hill, The Roots, and Wu Tang Clan in the process, but my primary goal was to see the band that changed my life. Finally, after Wu Tang, they were ready to go on. You could literally feel the excitement and the electricity pulsing through the crowd of 30,000 people. The stage lights went out but for a moment; when they returned, there was Rage, with Zach de la Rocha illuminated by spotlight. He simply stated, "Good evening. We are Rage Against the Machine from Los Angeles, California!" before the band started the intro to "Testify". As Tom Morello's guitar spat out it's familiar feedback over the pulsing drumbeat, there was sheer adrenaline building in the crowd. When the song finally kicked in, all hell broke loose. I'd never been in such a mob before. Everyone was jumping, pushing, and just going crazy. All I could do was just let my body go limp and let the crowd take me where it wanted. It was both the scariest and exhilarating 10 minutes of my life. I finally had to fight my way out of the front and get to safety, because I'd been without food and water for almost 8 hours.
No concert has ever come close to what I experienced that night, and it pretty much remains the best show I've ever seen.

I've performed in Carnegie Hall twice and the Sydney Opera House once.

Yea I played at Carnegie Hall twice also when I played for the Brooklyn-Borough-Wide Orchestra during junior high. I go to a performing arts high school now, and I've had some memorable concerts there as well. I would love to see a concert like Rock the Bells.
