I know a lot of people who would outright abandon this line and never look back if Bandai suddenly started concentrating on nothing but Final Wars figures. Bad idea.

Eh, just throwin' it out there. Believe me, it's not what I would want them to do; I'm all for going right into Showa, and even if we have to stay in the Heisei, I'm going to be disappointed if they don't do an 84 Godzilla.
What really got me thinking about the FW kaiju was the really, really strong feeling we'll get that Gigan at some point...

I'd let them finish Heisei first because we still need to know if the Heisei series of figures will be a great success. If it was a major success then they would move to Showa or Millenium (most likely Showa). But as for now, all we can do is wait and see.

I'd rather not restrict ourselves to any particular "era", but that does appear to be what Bandai is doing for now.

What figures would I want, personally? All of them of course lol....but, most wanted? Zilla, Showa Kumonga, Showa Ghidorah, Sanda & Gaira, Gabara, Godzilla 1968, Showa Minya, Showa Rodan (Revoltech's seriously disappointed me) and Gorosaurus. Of course, I don't see any of those except Godzilla, Ghidorah, and maybe Rodan ever happening/selling well, so, maybe its good I am not calling the shots.

Google search "bandai chogokin gigan"

You're welcome :P

I'm more interested in what other series they will branch into. I'd LOVE to see some monsters from the Monster Hunter series released into this line. Sure, not too much potential for articulation, but how I'd LOVE to pose Deviljho fighting Godzilla.

I'd love to see the FW kaiju get this treatment. Suit-wise, it's a logical choice.
Showa would be better, though.

Seen it. I've also seen quite a few Heisei Godzilla's, so...?

I mean, how many FW Gigan figs are there? Quite a few, so somebody at Bandai likes it/thinks it sells well. Just sayin'...

The really obvious and logical next figure is going to be Heisei Mothra...

The Chogokin Gigan, BOTH of them, to my understanding, are really articulated, so.... Kinda doing the same thing again.

Though, yeah, the vinyl figures, I know...

My expectations after Heisei finishes are some Millennium monsters. I doubt Bandai'd gamble and do the whole FW line-up though. a Millennium line wouldn't last too long.

Well the heisei era is my favourite era for godzilla films, but I wouldnt mind a Showa titanosaurus, Godzilla '64, Godzilla '75, Angirius, '65 Rodan and a '74 Mechagodzilla. And Speaking of the Heisei series, I would love to see a couple of monsters from the Dark Horse comic books too. Especially Bagorah, Cybersaur, Mecha-Spider, Gekido-Jin, Hero Zero and whatever that creature was in issue #16.

Considering what was recently shown at that Hobby Show - KingGhidorah, Destroyah, Fire Rodan, Baby G - it appears that they are continuing to mine the Heisei Era. Orga should be done too, though! :g2k:

Anguirus and Rodan have already been done by Revoltech, and Sould of Chogokin already did 3 Showa Mechagodzillas, so I'd rather see figures of kaiju who don't have super-articulated and detailed figures yet.

Yes but these 3 lines are incompatible with one another in terms of scale. the revlotech showa monsters are about 4-5" tall, while the soul of chogokin line is about 7" tall. and the S.H. MonsterArts figures are about 6 1/2 tall. So the scales of these figures are all over the map.

I'd love to see some characters from Showa done up in their Final Wars incarnations. I'd like to see a new sculpt of Godzilla in his Final Wars appearance and his appearance in Godzilla 2000 and Godzilla vs Megaguirus (Which are pretty much identical. Both purple and orange dorsal plate variants would be awesome!)

I think FW Godzilla would translate well into toy-form, certianly would have a better range of articulation than the one that was just released. Not to say that the Heisei Godzilla is bad, (He's fantastic and without a doubt the best Godzilla figure we've ever gotten.) my only complaint is that he is pretty limited in leg articulation because of his bulkiness.

Unless I'm wrong and it's just because the joints are tight on mine. I'm afraid if I apply too much force it will break him. Good thing I'm in stock of super glue and apoxie sculpt if that ever happens :D

So for me, I'm on the fence. Whichever direction they decide to go in I'm happy.

I'm tempted to get Chogokin Kiryu, but I'm not sure. Not to derail the thread here, but besides Chogokin Kiryu what other toy incarnations of Kiryu would you guys highly recommend? Something that is a must-have?

I really want SH Monsterarts versions of GFW kaiju. Many of those designed were better than the originals IMO. Manda, Anguirus, Rodan, Ebirah, Hedorah, and King Seesar were all nicely redesigned and would look great as high end articulated figures. It's a damned shame Final Wars sucked so bad. I'm fully convinced that some of those designs would be favorites otherwise.

Yeah, but logically the priority should go to kaiju who have yet to receive super articulated figures. Like Gezora, Biollante or Battra.

I don't really care whether S.H. MonsterArts does Showa or Millennium, as long as they do one or the other. The current figures look great, but I generally don't prefer the Heisei forms of the monsters, and as mentioned here & elsewhere, the Bato-Goji design restricts articulation. Personally, the idea of potentially seeing these guys get the treatment -

is mouth-watering.
