I don't think many people would be happy with this.

I doubt that's going to happen. Don't set your expectations that high.

You shouldn't set yours so low either.

I mean I love The Dark Knight, its so very near perfect.
But Godzilla's my bread and butter and if it's half as good as i think its going to be or even half as good as they're promising, I'd like it more than The Dark Knight.
Its where my fandom heart lies. With the Godzilla series.
The dead animals in KOM are a result of high powered signals sent from aliens,to awaken the dormant monsters. Animals with similar senses are overloaded from the signal &drop dead. That way much of the world will be destroyed in prep for the invasion.

I won't mind having a dark film but I'm not sure how a Dark Knight type of film will work for Godzilla since most people are used to the campy Godzilla. I hope the film is like The Incredible Hulk was to Ang Lee's Hulk, a film that was serious, fun and give what people wanted for once.

I wasn't getting my hopes up, I'm just saying if it's anywhere near that good I'd be extremely happy.

Movie shouldn't be dark and serious like the Godzilla 54 but not a joke like the latter showa series. The Heisei and melliuim series how a good tone to follow.

I love how the Internet deals in absolutes. I just want a good movie. It can be serious... and fun!

THANK YOU! God even dark stuff can be fun (Mortal Kombat? Hello?).

But really all I want is a good or at the very least decent/not bad Godzilla film.

I want it to be a good and fun film, but I also don't want it to be too lighthearted, as that will only reaffirm public stereotypes about Godzilla.

Ah, the irony in "Only a Sith lord deals in absolutes" was delicious...

Hippies? The Jedi seemed like more of a cult to me.

Hippie cult. Or a "generalized new-age horseshit" cult.

Sigh. I miss the old Star Wars...where heroes shot villains in cold blood, the force was mental magic, and the Jedi were just space samurai, not f*cking lame-brained socio/political theorists.

Yeah, part of the fun was the old-fashionedness of it, a fantasy universe where good and evil were clear and even the worst of people had a chance for redemption. The prequels messed that up by showing the Jedi as a cultlike order that took Force-sensitive children from their families at a young age and trained them to repress their emotions to serve the organization they were placed in with no regard for their own wishes, which frankly made the Sith look kind of sympathetic by comparison. Moral ambiguity is a very real thing and ought to be used in film but that wasn't the point of Star Wars.

Also,it would have been awesome if they showed a bit of tragedy for the clone troopers since they are people treated like weapons with a short lifespan.

It's amazing that Lucas apparently doesn't realize just how twisted his new, more "politically correct" entries really are.
