Akward/Questionable moments from Toho films

Postby Gyaos » Thu Nov 17, 2011 4:27 pm

1. Hedorah attempting to drown Godzilla in a pool of its own shit

2. The little kid molesting the car from Godzilla's Revenge.

3. The Xilians discarding their weapons to fight Don Frye when they could have just shot him right there.

4. The "Bong means king" from King Kong escapes.

5. The kidnappers being defeated by a child with a fire extinguisher in Godzilla's Revenge.

6. The invincible cat from Godzilla vs Hedorah

I was planning to make this kind of topic, so thank you. :huge:

1. Every time actor Harold S. Conway opens his mouth. "Good news! good news!" "Captain, do something before were all crushed to death!"

2. The U.N. translator's English dialogue from The Mysterians.

3. The awkward chase scene during Prof. Achmed's escape in Battle in Outer Space. I love the way he just pushes aside those security guards.

4. The Seatopian agent getting hit in the face with a model F86 Sabre Jet in Godzilla vs. Megalon.

Yuki's ass scene from Godzilla vs. Spacegodzilla. It really doesn't get much more awkward than that.

Anything coming out of Russ Tamblyn's mouth in War of the Gargantuas

I always thought some of the kill scenes in some of Kurosawa's samurai films were weird; the sword strikes somebody and the blood basically explodes everywhere; it puts Gamera to shame.

Whenever Nick Adams' Japanese voice actor (Goro Naya) borrows an English phrase.

Japan is apparently the land of high blood pressure and abnormal amounts of blood. Just watch some anime.

Some of the coolest things out there has high pressure blood. Metal Gear Solid and Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla to name a few.

Anyways, car humping. And the fish heads in Hedorah. And all the TVs in Hedorah showing his attacks, fights with Godzilla, aftermath of his attacks, the super baby on one of the screens and everyone on the remaining screens yelling "destroy the monster". Yeah. Oh and super kitty too. And Hedorah giving Godzilla a boston steam roller. You know what, on second thought all of GvH is just weird so nevermind.

Flying Godzilla. Period. I like the rest of Hedorah, even the above mentioned "weird" parts, but the Jet-Goji idea just gets under my skin every time. For me, it's like a particularly irritating sound that you don't grow accustomed to no matter how many times you hear it.

And, for the record, Kurosawa's blood kicks ass. The very best use, imo, is the quick-draw duel that closes Sanjuro. Our hero guts Kuroda and it's like he knocked the bolt off a fire-hydrant.

You do realize he's not actually humping the car? Also I don't see what's questionable about Ichiro defeating the robbers, it's more or less what happens in Home Alone. Oh right, Godzilla's Revenge bashing.

^Of course! Because Godzilla's Revenge sucks, because, like, its a movie for little kids and like, its like, got stock footage. And that makes it like, all sucky. Yeah, it sucks. It's the worst Godzilla movie ever cause like, it sucks. Because I'm some guy on the internet who has a beef with anything that isn't just a bunch of mindless monster fights and I say so.

I didn't really mean that I didn't like them, I meant that, being exposed to present-day effects as a pose to this made it feel kind of weird. ^And that's actually the scene that made me think of that.

I don't think he was bashing GR necessarily, but simply pointing out that whatever Ichiro was doing to that car was akward, which it is. Makes for a humorous avatar, though.

"Even though..... you're a cyborg.... Katsura I still love you! You're not to blame... None of this is your fault.* Ichinose cradles the hottie Katsura in his arms while she stares at him while making the weirdest face. She looked like she wanted to yell "Stranger Danger!" or "This is not my mommy!"

The mass suicide from Prophecies of Nostradamus comes into mind. Ackward in a depressing/creepy sort of way.

In Space Amoeba, the thief admits to stealing the plans like a casual conversation. He's not thinking that these people are going to try to prosecute him if they survive?

No shit. Thats why its on the list for being an akward moment. LOL how was I bashing Godzilla's Revenge. Did I say "LOL THIS MOVIE SUX!11!!1!" No. I picked out two particular scenes. Not the entire film.
