No offence, but your joking right?

We were told this was a reboot/remake once LP said that they got the rights to Godzilla over a year ago.

On topic, I really don't know what to say about this. I was excited for Goyer being the writer, since he has some good reputation under his belt, so I hope Max is just editing Goyers script a bit before filming. I'm also kinda dissapointed that we're going to have to wait even longer till the movie comes out.
Does anyone have that nervous feeling that this film might be droped? I'm sure its just my fanboyness of Godzilla just overreacting.

It's a reboot, not a skreeonk remake.

David S Goyer was also in talks to remake The Invisible Man with Universal Studios back in August. It could be that he drop out of Godzilla to work on that instead?

It's a reboot, not a skreeonk remake.

Which is why I am asking. The article says:
Max Borenstein (The Seventh Son) has been tapped to write the planned remake of Godzilla.

I'm sure it is a typo but I wanted to make sure I hadn't missed anything in the last few days.

^It could be that they thought the new movie was a remake and not a reboot? GINO is the only Godzilla remake of the original so far. This movie is a reboot just like The Amazing Spider-Man is to the Spider-Man series.

It's disheartening if this means that they're scrapping a shitload of work and going back to square one but, as others have suggested, at the very least we know that Legendary is still working on the damn thing. This is ambiguous news, but at least it is news.

Maybe there was some "things" in the script that Toho knew would not make fans happy so they stopped it before it was too late. Can't blame them after the little stunt D&E did.

There not going to pull another GINO. After what happened last time and seeing how fans and average joes reacted and how the film tanked after the first week they know not to repeat the same mistakes. Hell this film could turn out like shit and it still would never be as big a skreeonk up as the 1998 film.

Lol. Yeah, I doubt it will be as bad, but that doesn't mean it will be good. Despite what any major movie company says about fan service, all they really care about is money, so yes, I'm worried they could pull a TriStar.

2 more years. If this doesn't come out by 2014 then we can officially say it's in hell.

GINO was in development hell for six years, doubt it will go through the same development hell that GINO did. Hoping in the next few months, more info will pop up but I doubt it.

When the head of LP is a Godzilla fan, you know that sooner or later this film will be made.

The way I see it, they are trying to get the best possibly story for the movie.....tells me they're serious about making it a good one.

Yes, and it's nice to search for "Godzilla" at google news and not be treated to a litany of Nissan and Baseball stories.
