Just wondering... how many people who have posted in this topic have participated in their school's anime club (weather you were in school or are in school currently)? How many of members of the club did not know what AKIRA was? It's just interesting how one of the more important anime titles out there is so easily forgoten by now...

It's not that unusual, is it? I know people who're into anime who've heard of it, but have never actually seen it, and aren't really in any hurry to. Seems to happen with a lot of older works, in my experiences.

I don't pay attention to most newer animes since there have not been anything new that has me interested. I just stick with most older anime.

It's just weird how they know about FULL METAL PANIC (but not it's FUMAFU spin off which was funny as hell last time I saw it like 7 years ago), NEGIMA, XXX HOLIC, AXIS POWERS HEITELA, OHHC, and a bunch of other stuff but not AKIRA. Either way, though a risky move to make, we saw the first 50 minutes of AKIRA in the club and it was quite the experiance.

Go watch Mirai Nikki. There's oly one episode up right now, but believe me, it's alot of fun... Plus, it has one of my faorite anime characters EVER... the queen of Yandere, Gasai Yuno...

Watched the third episode of Mirai Nikki last night. Yuno is so crazy. The end of that episode made me shiver.

Just got done watching the fourth episode of Guilty Crown.
OH. MY. GOODNESS.
Guilty Crown is definitely shaping up to be an amazing anime.

Angel Beats! Wish they kept it going longer than 13 episodes... there were parts that could have made great story arcs and good chapters. It was amazing for what it was though.

I normally go to www.watchanimeon.com for stuff. You'll be able to find Guilty Crown in pretty good quality there.

Its overpriced, IR. Like between 300-$450 new for the set, or you can buy volumes for $20-$30 each.

Just get a bootleg like me. I downloaded it - was like 3.2GB in like 40 mins

I remember that show from when it was on Toonami. Kinda. Just a little. I do remember liking it, though.

So, I read through Naruto quite recently, and the manga is MUCH better than the anime.

Hoping the local Public Library will also get in One Piece and Yu Yu Hakusho.

I agree so much with this statement. The only problem I have with the manga is the CONSTANT use of panels with peoples faces in them when someone does something amazing. Like when Naruto made 1000 dopplegangers there were 19 panels with a character with bug eyes.

If it wasn't for the overly drawn out fillers in Naruto that happen after every 10 or so episodes of the actual main story line then the anime wouldn't be that bad. In fact, I like the anime. I skip all the filler crap though.
Has anybody else ever reached the point where you start getting bored with anime because you can't find any that can compare to your favorites? Seems to be happening to me.
