Fantasy Matches Usergroup Discussion

Because people keep suggesting it but there hasn't been a thread about it in a long time. Ends in two weeks, and get on discussin' the issue.

Make it a usergroup. Who gives a shit? People act like there's a wino walking into a five-star restaurant with this shit. It's not like people are slapping the more active posters there in the face by making dumb matches. People act like the FMs have some imaginary majestic reputation to uphold. I just think it's stupid to make it a usergroup because somebody makes a few/several matches that don't follow the rules that can easily be, you know, ignored.

Again I say, I don't even give a shit anymore. This always only seems to come up when somebody like Berserk999 or whoever makes a bunch of matches that don't follow the rules. It's a convenient argument and nothing more. Nothing more besides annoying. I like the FMs. I'd join the usergroup. But people know who make bad matches. People who make the FMs something they really like to do know what matches are lop-sided or not. Stay away from them. Post and have fun in the good matches, and the shitty ones will magically start moving to the bottom of the page. I've seen it happen. There are no matches by Berserk on the front page now. Or, like I said, talk to the staff and actually do something about it instead of throwing a fit every time somebody makes a dumb match.

Well yeah. Issues tend to be brought up for discussion when they become more prevalent. That's kinda how things work.

It's not making one-sided matches that is the real problem. People learn over time what is and what is not one sided. What is the problem is people who have five word answers akin to "Anguirus wins cause I like him". The problem is people who repeatedly can't follow the simple rules like posting stats for each combatant. The user group idea isn't some way of making those who enjoy posting in the fm's to feel like some internet super group. It's to make things run smoothly by keeping those who repeatedly can't follow the rules from cluttering the section. It's the same reason that the arena section has a sort of code you follow or you get kicked out.

I've found that, in regards to people that make little responses like that, if the next poster actually posts a real reason for their decision, they'll either spark a decently well-thought out response from the other, or they will shut up and not post again. When surrounded with much more complex posts, those people will feel out of place. I understand full what you are saying. Me personally, I'm not a huge poster like you and several others. I state who I think would win and why, and possibly some examples and that's it. People that make unintelligent statements like that don't really bother me. That being said, whether my opinion matters or not since I'm not largely active there is open for debate. I'm just tired of hearing the BS. It always comes around when somebody makes a few/several bad matches. That can be very annoying, yes, but when it dies down, it's over and forgotten. Nobody brings it up anymore, the argument basically all but disappears. It's a convenient argument. I voted yes. But in my opinion, this needs to go to the staff instead of being largely out in the open here starting a bunch of pissing matches, which I'm surprised hasn't happened yet.

At this point, yes, or have a dedicated Mod for the section. The smoothest the FMs have ever run in the history of TK have had either of those attributes.

At least you half-way saw my point. For some reason I wasn't paying attention to the section. But I was talking about like a PM or something. I thought that would be quicker; but I guess you don't want to spam the staff's in-boxes.

The FM's are not as active then they used on the old forums and I would normally say no but I think we can have one just in case. I remember when I lurk the forums a long time ago on the old forums that the FM end up getting a user group because we had some many bad threads from what I can remember.

Bad wording on my part (as usual) - I don't really care much about the FM's themselves, but I do care about the debate cropping up repeatedly. I'd kind of just like it either to become a usergroup already, or for the admins/mods to put their foot down and say no.
