Oh, we're in complete agreement there. But the market will bear the prices because availability is close to nonexistent. Everyone's seen them here and there (in the past) but no one sees them anywhere currently.

^ Which was shocking to me when you discovered just how rare they were. They were everywhere online and seemingly in an instant they disappeared.

That is because it is a rip off. I am a score collector, and often, once a score goes out of print, it is often sold at 600% mark up by independent sellers, those who often only buy them so they can sell them once they sell out.

I still have many more Godzilla dvds to go, but I will not pay that much for a used, bare bones DVD. Luckily, I don't think they are being sold for bad prices on amazon's marketplace.

Weird that they're going out of print so suddenly, I'm glad I got all mine back in April/May (back when the prices for pretty much all Godzilla films were $10 or less), Sony's Showa DVDs are amazing, despite being bare-bones.
