What do you love/hate about gaming in general?

Easy. When it comes to playing video games, what do you like? and what do you hate?

this reguards gaming in general. not just old or new.

Love
-When games are not straight up confusing or complicated. I like a challenge, but seriously. When I stop playing a game for months at a time because I am at a loss at what I should do... just no.

-I am a huge sucker for costumes/skins in games. I love being able to select a different Spider-man costume from the comics, or picking a new skin for one of the monsters in War of the Monsters (PS2). It's just awesome fan service if you ask me.

Hate
-I hate action/adventure games that have random puzzle sections. I am not good at puzzle games at all.

-Fighting games that require mile long button combos to accomplish decent moves. wanna do a sweet uppercut with a finishing kick? leftleftrightupupdownababaqurfhfj

-cheat codes that need to be put in under a certain amount of time. I don't mind a time limit really. but when I need to type "up right left left triangle triangle square circle X X left right right" in like 5 seconds, I get aggravated.

I love everything about good games but the price, but I guess the prices make sense when you consider how much dough is put into the development of these things. Still, hurts the wallet compared to a Blu-Ray or a vinyl record, which is why I don't buy many games (most of my PS3 games are older $20 titles).

Video game scores (especially the ones for the RE games)
Games that offer a moderate challenge that isn't too hard nor too easy

Hate:

Games that emphasize a story over the gameplay (Heavy Rain is a big example)
Games that feel half assed and feel unfinshed

Story is important. I hate that demos now only allow you play through online multiplayer and not the single player mode. Like with the Crysis 2 demo, you only played the multiplayer mode. I also hate updates when you turn on the game console and that you have to do another one right after the next update.

- The loss of the idea that video games are entertainment, not people's skreeonk lives!

The tightness of the current 360 game cases which causes the discs to crack in the center.

How expensive a game(and a skreeonk Controller) is now compared to how much a game cost about 8 years ago.

How DLC used to be free on the Xbox but now I have to buy it for the 360.

Games are way simpler now than they were before, like tutorials in games before were rare.

I''m actually serious. They're old. They're outdated. The 360 will be 7 years old next Year. The PS3 will be past it's prime as well. All they have left is specular lighting/creative lighting. I hope AMD can pull off the "Avatar quality graphics" they say they can do for the next Xbox.

Chris is right all consoles are pretty much obsolete once they hit the market but thanks to standardization game designers can pull some great looking stuff off.

Love
-Voice chat with friends that live several states away
-Being able to use my video game systems for more than just video games.

Hate
-D-bags on Xbox Live that why I only play MP with friends now
-Really short games; if I'm paying $60 for a game I should be able to get more than 4 hours out of it.
-Games that skimp out on single player for multiplayer; some of us gamers want to have a nice balance of both. An example would be Modern Warfare 2 you get a three hour campaign give or take depending on the difficulty then the rest is all MP.

^ You could say that the Special Ops is a little bonus for one player, but that's pushing it. I know what you're saying and I totally agree. Too much MP is bad...

No two-player online playing

Black Ops is great just because you can do this. I know this will be a feature that will be more common soon, but until then, it's an annoyance.

I hate it when bosses (or sometimes mini-bosses or even just normal characters) absolutely rape you in their fights. I don't mean they're difficult and they beat me. I mean when they move inhumanly fast and hit you with combos that bounce you around in the air for five minutes without allowing you any chance whatsoever for retaliation. When my hands are numb and I may as well just put the controller down, there's something wrong. Note to game developers: There actually is a difference between being challenging and just giving the finger to the player.
